THE fourth and fifth class pupils at Scoil Nuachabháil have raised over €1,000 for the school selling Ballymacelligott area-themed fridge magnets.
Under the stewardship of teacher, Siobhan Curran, they created and sold the picture magnets to enter into this year’s Junior Entrepreneur Programme.
To decide what images would go on the magnets, the class conducted a survey and then decided on views of Ballymacelligott, the Ballymacelligott GAA crest and photos of the school. Around 350 fridge magnet were then made and sold by the children.

Last Friday, moms and dads got to come into the school and check out the handiwork through a presentation of their tasks and achievements during the project.
The Junior Entrepreneur Programme is a 10 – 16 week entrepreneurial education programme for primary school pupils. An awards ceremony is held every year in the spring, with schools from all over the county showing their projects.
