CANCER support charity, Recovery Haven Kerry, is calling on the men of the Kingdom to come together and show their support for its inaugural “100 Men/€100” Movember Challenge.

The charity, which offers free, therapeutic support to almost 1,300 cancer patients across Kerry, is hoping to recruit 100 men to shave their beards or moustaches this November in conjunction with ‘Movember 2018’ and raise €100 each for the charity in the process.

The idea is the brainchild of well-known Tralee man Junior Locke, who is keen to involve both individuals and businesses across the county to take part.

With almost every family in the county now affected by cancer in some way, Junior believes that the men of Kerry will be more than willing to sign up for the challenge .

“As well as individuals taking part and raising €100 each, we are also hoping that local businesses may nominate an employee and sponsor them to take on the challenge,” he said. “Our aim is to recruit 100 men to raise €100 each, which would mean an incredible €10,000 for Recovery Haven. Needless to say, if we get more men or if they raise more than €100 each, then all the better.”

Those interested in taking part are asked to register with Recovery Haven Kerry as soon as possible, after which they will be given their sponsorship card – and the beard and moustache growing will commence!
