The Ford Fair is a must for motor enthusiasts.

IRELAND’S only car show dedicated to Fords will take place in Banna this weekend, September 7 and September 8.

Based at the popular Banna Beach Resort in the north of county and sponsored by local Ford dealers Kerry Motor Works, the two-day event will cater for all types of Blue Oval machinery from vintage and classic cars, modified and rally machinery and even tractors and modern Fords.

Ford has a long association with the south west of Ireland, company founder Henry Ford can trace his ancestors to West Cork, less than 150km from the fair venue and two years ago the company celebrated the 100th anniversary of the opening of its Cork City factory.

The fair is the brainchild of local motorsport enthusiast and resident DJ at the Banna Beach Resort, Ray Stack.

“Bring the family as we will have a fun-filled line-up of entertainment for young and old all weekend. Saturday evening, we will have a run starting at 4pm around the ring of north Kerry taking in some of the most breath-taking views of the Wild Atlantic Way,” said Ray.

This is followed by a BBQ at the Banna Beach Resort Music and dancing in O’Shea’s Bar until late. Sunday’s activities will feature static displays on the hotel grounds with plenty of additional family entertainment.

“The line-up of cars is getting bigger and better, we have everything from a Model T to brand new cars, rally cars, and even dragsters,” added Ray. Public entry to the show is €5 and Kids go free.

Ford traders, specialists, exhibitors and auto jumblers can register to trade at the grounds by calling Ray on 0868244424. For more about the Fair, check out the facebook page.
