THE Arts Office at Kerry County Council is collaborating with Visual Artists Ireland (VAI) on a seminar for artists which will take place at Siamsa Tire in Tralee on Saturday, December from 10am to 4pm.
‘Being Creative: Tools in how to maintain creativity and overcome blocks’ is taking place with support from The Arts Council and the Creative Ireland Kerry Programme.
The venue is being provided by Siamsa Tire who are liaising with the Arts Office on the event. The workshop will offer highly practical methods, tips and techniques that support creativity.

It emphasises discipline and commitment to ongoing learning and focuses on both Process and Structure in the act of creating.
Miriam Logan is the facilitator for the day and she will bring participants through aspects of a creative empowerment course which she adapted from her own practice as both an artist and an empowerment trainer.
The workshop is part of a series of a creative sector development programme of supports underway by Creative Ireland Kerry at the Arts Office of Kerry County Council.
Business mentoring days and a peer support events took place earlier in the year and were well supported by artists in the county.
“The workshop offers an opportunity to share challenges as they apply to an artists inherent ability to be creative. Supporting this instinct is a keep element if we are going to support artists to live, work and create from Kerry”, says Kate Kennelly, Arts Officer at Kerry County Council and Creative Ireland Co-ordinator for Kerry. Artists are encouraged to apply as soon as p0ssible as places are limited.
