SIAMSA Tíre will launch its 2019 winter Open Submission Exhibition this Friday at 6pm.
In September, Siamsa Tíre invited artists in the southwest of Ireland to submit works with the theme of ‘Boundaries Real and Imagined’ for an exhibition curated by Sharon Murphy.
It has been their largest submission to date with 54 pieces being chosen by the curator for inclusion in the exhibition.

At the launch in the Siamsa Tíre Galleries, special awards will be announced on the night. All artworks will be unframed and are available for purchase with collection on Feb 6th when the exhibition closes.
Catriona Fallon, Siamsa Tíre Visual Arts Curator comments; “We have had a wonderful response from artists in the south west to this year’s brief on large pieces of art paper instead of canvas. Entrants ranged from 18 up to 70 years and from new artists to semi-professionals. All of the submissions interpreted the theme in very different ways using a variety of materials, creating a very interesting exhibition for our gallery visitors.”
