The purpose of the residency is to give an artist space and financial support to develop their work without the pressure of producing a physical output at the end of the residency.

Conor O’Grady said; “The main point of departure for the work on display is visual research into the contemporary uses of the areas surrounding Siamsa Tíre.  Objects placed within these display cases were found in the Town Park area of Tralee.  The acts of collecting and archiving such seemingly everyday objects raises these fragments from their original context.”

In addition to the sample works on exhibit, Conor will talk about the work on view in the back gallery which he has been using as a studio space throughout the residency.  This space hosts a constantly changing display identifying the disparate areas of research he is working on.

No booking is required and admission to the talk is free.  Tea and coffee will be served. For further information on the artist and the residency please visit:
