The weekend is nearly over but there’s no sign of the fun ending. Here’s a few suggestions on what to do today (and hopefully the weather won’t be as bad as the forecast!)…

1. Cheer on the Rose 10k runners…

The Rose of Tralee 10k takes place from the Tralee Wetlands at 11.30am but if you want to cheer them home, get to the finish line this afternoon at the Ashe Memorial Hall on Denny Street.

Hundreds of runners have signed up and some are doing it for great causes.

2. Family fun all over town…

Again, the town centre and Town Park will be awash with street performers, children’s entertainers, musicians and more for the day. Don’t miss the fun.

3. ‘It’s A Knockout’…

Charities, clubs, businesses and groups of friends will raise their profile in front of thousands of people in a fun new event today.

Teams of six will tackle a course of inflatable and foam obstacles in the hope of winning a top prize of €1000 in the Town Park. It should be some craic. It starts at 3.30pm and goes on til about 5pm.

4. Fashion lovers rejoice…

This year’s  Rose of Tralee Fashion Show at the Dome will feature all the top boutiques and stores from the Munster region, including top Irish milliners presented by The Holman Lee Agency.

One lucky woman in the audience will win a magnificent prize worth €1,000 for being the Best Dressed Lady. Tickets are €35 and are still available. The show starts at 8pm.

5. Music of the night…

Again, there’s a range of different styles of music to enjoy. Heart & Soul are in Castle Street, the Shannon Gospel Choir are on the Denny Street Stage at 8.30pm followed by the Connor McKeon Band.

6. Take shelter in the pub…

If it’s raining the pubs have some fantastic entertainment lined up. In the Brogue there’s a trad session followed by the amazing Midnite Cafe, over in No.4 On The Square you can rock to the excellent Chapter 2. There’s no reason to stay at home!
