Six Things To Do Around Tralee This Weekend

It’s the weekend and it’s a long one, so make the most of it. Here’s a few things to get up to around town…

Friday

1. Winter wardrobe and make-up tips…

Looking for some ideas for your winter wardrobe? Tired of wearing the same make up day in day out? Well head to CH Tralee at 7pm for an evening of fashion tips and beauty tricks hosted by Weardrobe Tralee and CH. Tickets are €10, are redeemable against a Lancome purchase on the night.

2. Music on the streets…

There’s a busking competition on The Mall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening from 6pm to 9pm under a marquee. People are encouraged to come out and enjoy the entertainment.

There’s also loads of gigs in the pubs around Tralee so go out and enjoy yourselves after a hard week’s work!

Saturday

3. Slime and science in Manor…

Manor West Retail Park and Shopping Centre will host a fun and exciting day for your little ones to remember when from 12pm to 5pm, the Junior Einsteins Science Club will visit with their popular ‘Gross Slime & Bubbling Potions Show’ for one day only.

On the day, Junior Einsteins’ fantastic team of science instructors will share their love of science and learning with children through fun, hands-on, interactive science experiments, encouraging children’s natural curiosity and igniting their enthusiasm and creativity.

Junior Einsteins will host five, hour long shows (last show at 4pm), as well as lots of other entertainment on the day including face painting and balloon making to keep children of all ages entertained.

Sunday

4. Who will be champs?…

It’s been a great Garvey’s Supervalu Kerry SFC and it all comes to end (barring a replay) next Sunday in Austin Stack Park.

Dr Crokes will take on Dingle for the Bishop Moynihan Cup at 3pm. General admission is €20 and a big crowd is expected in Tralee.

5. Mitchels go ‘Lip Synging’…

Contestants are ready to rock the Ballygarry House Hotel in the Ballygarry House Hotel when they take the stage for the first ever John Mitchels GAA Lip Syng.

A number of contestants will take to the stage as solo acts or in groups for what promises to be a great night. Tickets are available from the following outlets: O’Mahonys Bakery, Boherbee; O’Donoghue’s Chemist, Boherbee; Gallys Bar & Restaurant John Mitchels Club, Ballyseedy, Theresa Deane (087) 9357435, Hugh Fitzgibbon (086) 0887238.

6. The Battle for Abbeydorney…

On the other side of Tralee, the parish of Abbeydorney and beyond will be in Ballyroe Heights Hotel to the local club’s ‘Battle Of The Parish’.

There’s eight teams assembled who will perform a song, dance and drama segment from a well known movie. The fun starts with a drinks reception at 6.30pm while the show starts at 7.15pm.
