It’s Valentine’s weekend and there’s no shortage of things to go to over the next couple of days. Hopefully Storm Dennis doesn’t spoil the party…

Friday

1. Puppy love…

THE Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind (IGDB) Tralee Branch will host a dance at the Meadowlands Hotel with the theme of ‘Puppy Love’ with some of their puppies-in-training and other IGDB breeding dogs, ambassador dogs and working dogs in attendance.

It’ll be a fantastic night of music, dancing with Nitelife and spot prizes. Tickets €15 available at the door on the night. Doors open 8.30pm.

2. Get hitched in the Brogue…

Kirby’s Brogue Inn are inviting couples or just friends to have a bit of fun at the barin aid of a local charity.

People can come in and ‘Father’ Vinnie Murphy of the Brogue will bless couples in front of a special wedding altar backdrop and have their photo taken. In return they are asked to make a small donation to Kerry Cancer Support Group/Health Link Transport.

The event is sponsored by Heineken and each couple will receive two drink vouchers as a reward for taking part. You don’t have to be a romantically-linked couple, everyone can participate. The fun begins from around 9.30pm. Rock band Renovator are playing later that night.
