Slight Fall In People On Live Register In Tralee Last Month

THE number of people on the Live Register in Tralee fell slightly last month according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office.

There was a drop of 52 to 2,972 people signing on at the Tralee office in October.

Tralee bucked the trend among the six other offices in Kerry where 6,193 people signed on the Live Register in Kerry last month, up 3.5% from September’s figure. All the other offices recorded an increase in jobless numbers.

Killarney was up 61 to 806, Dingle rose 77 to 354, Caherciveen increased by 40 to 237, Kenmare was up 37 to 185, Killorglin rose by 39 to 453 and Listowel increased by 11 to 1,186.

Despite the increase countywide, the number is still down 10% compared with October 2018 when the figure was 6,912. In Tralee, the figure is down 348 (-11%) on the same month last year and the lowest recorded since November 2006.
