BALLYSEEDY Garden Centre is always a colourful spot, but none more so than on Saturday morning, where people gathered for the ‘Splash of Pink’ coffee morning in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
Ladies and gents sported some element of pink clothing and the event went down a storm for all concerned.
Organiser Mary O’Sullivan from Cahermoneen, said that while the attendance was down slightly on last year (possibly due to clashing with Dingle Food Festival) she was happy with the turnout.

“This year we incorporated a fashion show, compered by Margaret Brick, into the event. We just wanted people to enjoy the day and make a bit of money for the Society,” said Mary.
“I got involved in this because my own mother had breast cancer but she’s a real trooper and is flying now thank God. I also have a friend who didn’t turn up to last year’s event and I wondered why. The next day she told me she was diagnosed with breast cancer. But a year on, she’s here today and in amazing form. It’s great to see that positivity,” said Mary, who thanked Bernie Falvey of Ballyseedy Garden Centre for making the venue available.
This year Centra Nolan’s Tralee have joined Unislim and Bernie Falvey of Ballyseedy to make this year’s event even bigger.
Along with the free cup of coffee, attendees were also treated to an in-store fashion show with items being supplied by ‘Meadows and Byrne’, ‘Edinburgh Woollen Mills’ and ‘Blarney Woollen Mills.’
Nolan’s Centra, provided a hamper for the best dressed lady in pink along with a prize for the cutest baby (boy or girl) with a ‘Splash of Pink’ and there was a raffle and spot prizes.
Great morning, even better cause.
