THE annual ‘Splash of Pink’ coffee morning in aid of the Irish Cancer Society will take place in Ballyseedy Home and Garden Centre, on Saturday October 4 from 10am to 12 noon.

“It’s a serious issue, but the morning is a fun way of raising funds and awareness, we want it to be a fun event,”  said one of the organisers, Mary O’Sullivan.

“My mother had breast cancer, but there hasn’t been a home in Ireland that hasn’t been affected by cancer in some way shape or form,” said Mary.

The national event is called ‘Paint it Pink’ with the intention of everyone wearing pink from head to toe on the day.

However, in Ballyseedy Home and Garden Centre, it’s only asked of attendees to wear a ‘Splash of Pink’ so as not to put pressure on people to go all out.
