Today’s visit is part of Bord Bia’s Marketplace 2015, a week-long business development event aimed atbuilding new trade relationships with retailers, foodservice and ingredient buyers and distributors fromacross the globe. Marketplace 2015 will be the largest international food buyer event ever staged inIreland, with in excess of 400 food and drink trade buyers from 30 countries travelling to meet, and dobusiness, with the Irish food and drink industry. For three days, over 215 of the international buyers aretaking part in 11 targeted itineraries arranged by Bord Bia visiting farms and factories across thecountry to examine first-hand Ireland’s world-class agri-food industry. On Thursday (March 26th), all ofthe overseas buyers will join 140 Irish food and drink buyers at the Convention Centre Dublin for amajor one-to-one business development event. Some 185 Irish food and drink companies will meet the540 buyers during 4,500 pre-scheduled ‘speed-dating’ style meetings taking place throughout the day.
