IF you’re heading out this weekend, then why not try something different which hasn’t been seen (or tasted) in Tralee before.

A collaboration between Stewart Lyons (former leaseholder of Roundy’s Bar) and Noel Keane of Croí Restaurant, the seeds of this enterprise were sown just before Christmas, when Noel invited Stewart to make cocktails in the bar and it proved a huge success.

The lads decided to make it a permanent fixture and Cocktail Heist was born, taking up residence on the ground floor of Croí on Princes Street (just up from The Brandon Hotel), with business as usual in the restaurant upstairs serving the same high standard of delicious food.

Customers can come into Cocktail Heist and enjoy a cocktail or premium spirits with sharing boards in a relaxed atmosphere and chill-out tunes, while tapas dishes are served out the back in the seating area, with an extensive selection of wines available.

Barrel-aged cocktails can be enjoyed.

Croí and Cocktail Heist complement each other perfectly, with many customers enjoying a cocktail aperitif downstairs before heading up for a meal, or a drink after dinner (with table service) to extend the evening.

There are also little flourishes which make the experience special, like the barrel-aged spirits and cocktails, finishing off the cocktails at the table in front of customers and the hand-cut ice.

They are also working on a ‘mocktail’ menu and their own homemade lemonades. They also have alcohol-free gin and other spirits.

Meanwhile, Noel Keane has created a Spanish-Irish influenced tapas menu that won’t disappoint. As well as seafood and meat dishes, there’s also a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan tapas dishes and sharing boards on the menu, while all cocktails are also vegan friendly.

They also have some special events planned including Tiki Cocktail Night on Monday, March 16, where Stewart and master mixologist Rachael will create a menu of classic tiki cocktails as well as some surprises on the night, while Noel creates  some Polynesian-inspired tapas.

Why not make a booking on 066-7120685 or just call in this weekend to sample how Stewart and Noel are creating a special taste experience for Tralee. Check them out on facebook and instagram.
