Acne has become a very persistent skin condition since mask wearing became a necessity during the pandemic.
It occurs when the hair follicles become blocked with oil and dead cells, causing whiteheads, blackheads or pimples. Acne is most common among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages.
Aside from the physical effects of acne, the condition can also have an impact on emotional and psychological well-being.
At CHRC we have a treatment called AC Dual that uses IPL to simultaneously address both the cause and the visible symptoms of acne.
This is a dual light treatment-blue light targets acne causing bacteria, leading to the destruction of the bacteria.
The red light controls inflammation and promotes faster healing. AC Dual can also treat the chest and back area.
There is no downtime and the treatment is quick and comfortable. The sensation is that of an elastic band touching the skin. A built in cooling system makes the treatment very comfortable.
Treatment time is normally 20 minutes; the number of treatments will depend on the individual but typically 6-12 treatments are required.
