From constant use of hand sanitiser, we are looking at our hands more than ever. They are drier and we are seeing imperfections.
Some of us are seeing ageing features appear and are looking for them to disappear. The salon and Spa industry in Ireland contributes €540 million annually to the Irish economy.
A huge portion of this is the nail industry. We want our hands to look good, not just our nails.
Hands are exposed to wind, rain, sun and water and as a result they age faster than any other part of our body.
We use our hands to do so many things, tie shoes, open jars, drive, cook and clean. So now maybe is the time to look after our digits .
As we age, our hands lose fat and elasticity and skin loses volume. This reduced volume and decreased elasticity produces translucent skin that wrinkles and develops age spots.

First is ‘Diamond Polar’ which helps with skin tightening and this is ideal for skin that is beginning to show the signs of sagging. This combines radio frequency and pulsed electro-magnetic fields.

Maintenance is required as we continue to age. Every season a top-up is required, or up to the individual requirements.
For the age spots, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a very successful treatment. A course is recommended and at first, the pigment will go darker before it starts to fade .
This treatment is very effective, but SPF is recommended to stop new pigment forming or activating the old treated pigment.
