Mary O’Donnell, of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic in the Bon Secours in Tralee, on tackling cellulite at the clinic…

Is cellulite affecting your confidence? It is estimated 85% of females, over the age of 21 and older have cellulite.

Cellulite is more common in females, often due to hormonal changes, genetics, diet, and other lifestyle factors.

It is completely harmless but can look unsightly and the most common areas that can be affected are the thighs, buttocks, hips and abdomen.

The upper arms tend to see more cellulite as we age due to elasticity loss and weight gain can also make cellulite more noticeable.

In CHRC, we use our Venus Bliss device to tackle cellulite, which will tighten the skin, safely target the cellulite and underlying fat cells, while encouraging the production of collagen and elastin to improve the appearance of bumps and dimpling.

Our non-surgical treatment is FDA approved and we are the only provider of Venus Bliss in Ireland.

Our Aesthetic Practitioner will have a one-to-one consultation with you to discuss which areas of your body are concerning you and tailor a plan to suit you.

The cellulite treatment time is between 15-30 minutes depending on the area. For optimal results, treatments should be done once a week.

The cellulite area will feel warm during the treatment and may do so for up to two hours afterwards.

A lot of clients tend to doze off while the treatment is being performed as it can be quite relaxing!

Lunch break is a very popular time to avail of our cellulite treatment and you return to work as normal afterwards.

We also recommend to exercise on the day of the treatment and to drink water, to flush out any toxins which will be extremely beneficial in the overall results of the cellulite treatment.
