St Brendans 44 TK Cougars 13

The St. Brendan’s U11’s had a convincing win against TK Cougars in Moyderwell last Wednesday.

They dominated the 1st quarter with points by Mark Lynch, Brayden Pierce and Ruairi Hanafin as well as some good rebounding from Liam Og O’Connor and Sean Barrett saw them take a commanding lead of 9-0.

The 2nd quarter was much like the first with some good scoring from Harry Wallace, Jack Canty, Thomas Sheehy and Peter Doyle. Conor Lucey worked tirelessly on defence and made some super passes offensively.

Dara Wallace came off the bench and made a great 3-point play to finish the half with Brendan’s extending their advantage to 22-12.

Paddy Lane took over at point guard for the third quarter and helped maintain a good offence with some sleek passing and footwork. St Brendan’s continued to score throughout the third quarter but did allow TK Cougars to get back into the game.

However a final push in the fourth from all players saw off the challenge and Brendan’s maintained control to see out the game on a scoreline of 44-13. Well done to coach Cyril Wallace and all the squad. Next game v KCYMS on Wednesday 8th at 6pm in Moyderwell.

GARVEY’S TRALEE WARRIORS

The Garvey’s Tralee Warriors face a Superleague showdown this weekend when their closest rivals for a play off position Pyrobel Killester visit Tralee for another big Saturday evening game in the Tralee Sports Complex.

The game has a notably earlier tip off than usual with the action getting underway at 5.00pm.

This is to avoid a clash with the Allianz National Football League Div 1 match with Kerry v Mayo at Austin Stack Park that starts at 7.00pm.

The Warriors will need to secure all three Superleague points against Killester as they currently are six points clear of the visitors but the Dublin side has two games in hand. Make a date for the diary and don’t miss out on what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
