ST. BRENDAN’S BASKETBALL CLUB NOTES

BRUDDY BURROWS MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT POSTPONED
The Bruddy Burrows Memorial U12 Tournament scheduled to take place at Moyderwell on Saturday 30th September has been postponed. Details of the event will be published when an alternative date is decided.

St. Brendan’s U16s with coach Fergal O’Sullivan runnners up in the inaugural Éamonn McCarthy Memorial U16 Tournament hosted by St. Brendan’s Basketball Club last weekend.

ÉAMONN MCCARTHY MEMORIAL U16 BOYS TOURNAMENT

Congratulations to St. Mary’s Castleisland who won the inaugural Éamonn McCarthy Memorial U16 Boys Tournament on Saturday in Moyderwell. They overcame the host team St. Brendan’s in a thrilling final by a single point 32-31. Earlier the Killarney Cougars won the Plate Final with a 29-16 victory over St. Paul’s. Thanks to all the teams that competed in a tremendous exhibition of underage basketball played at Moyderwell and the Presentation Gym. Thanks also to the organisers of the event for ensuring that the tournament ran so smoothly and successfully. Finally thanks to the McCarthy family who presented the cup and trophies to the winning teams and MVP.

CLUB TRAINING TIMES

Training times for the 2017/18 season at Moyderwell Hall are as follows:

Academy (Coaches: Charles/Linda/Pa/Dusan)

The academy takes place every Tuesday in Moyderwell for 4 to 6 year olds from 4.30pm to 5.15pm and 7 to 9 year olds from 5.15pm to 6.00pm

Boys U10s (Coach: Noelle Kingston)

GARVEY’S TRALEE WARRIORS

The Garvey’s Tralee Warriors opened their Super League account with a comprehensive 75-37 win over KUBS from Dublin on Saturday night. Pa McCarthy top scored for the Warriors as they eased to a comfortable victory in front of a full house at the Tralee Sports Complex. Next up for the Warriors is a trip to Oranmore in Galway to take on Super League newcomers Maree in Calasanctius College on Saturday night. The game tips off at 7.45pm.
