St. Brendan’s got their season off to a great start with a win away to St. Anne’s last Sunday. The visitors started strongly with Katelyn Sullivan, Laura Griffin, Sharon Reidy, Katie Costello and Claire O’Sullivan all showing good early season form to open an 11-6 lead at the end of the low scoring first quarter. The home side improved in the second when they pressed up on St. Brendan’s but a couple of good scores from Sharon Reidy and Karen McMahon saw the Tralee side stretch their lead to 26-19 at the half time break. GARVEY’S TRALEE WARRIORS

The Garvey’s Tralee Warriors made it three wins from four games played with a sensational victory over Moycullen of Galway in the Tralee Sports Complex last Saturday night. With the side level at 70 points apiece, it took a moment of pure magic with Trae Pemberton conjuring an overhead no look pass to team captain Darren O’Sullivan who stepped up to land a stunning match winning three pointer in front of an ecstatic home crowd at the Complex. The win sees the Warriors sit in second place on the Super League table behind Belfast Star by virtue of points difference. Next up for the Warriors is another home game with the DCU Saints travelling to the Tralee Sports Complex next Saturday night. The game tips off at 8.00pm and supporters are advised to get to the venue early.
