Kenmare Kestrels 29

St. Brendan’s 26

St. Brendan’s made the long trip to Kenmare last Wednesday to take on the Kestrels. This was a very close game and the two teams traded baskets throughout.

Jack McCormack opened the scoring with a great basket followed by 4 from 4 from the free throw line. Cathal Concagh, Lucca Carroll and Fiachra O’Connor contested rebounds both ends of the court during this quarter.

Brendan’s were unfortunate to lose Evan Healy after 5 minutes due to injury. Kenmare dominated the second quarter with Darragh O’Connor proving most accurate. Shane Kelly and Brian O’Donnell registered points for Brendan’s. Jack Murphy, Shane Cotter, Joseph O’Sullivan and Dean Dunne Hourigan worked hard in defence. Brendan’s trailed by 6 at half time.

Evan Healy returned to the court and with Rory O’Halloran scored 10 points between them in the third quarter. A great 3 pointer by Cathal Concagh in the closing minutes of the game left just 3 points between the teams, however Kenmare held their composure and secured the win.

Team: Brian O’Donnell, Cathal Concagh, Evan Healy, Fiachra O’Connor, Jack McCormack, Jack Murphy, Joseph O’Sullivan, Lucca Carroll, Ruairi Halloran, Shane Kelly, Shane Cotter, Dean Dunne Hourigan.

BOYS AND GIRLS U10 KABB BLITZ IN MOYDERWELL

St. Brendan’s Boys U10s and Girls U10s competed in a blitz last Sunday in Moyderwell hosted by St. Brendan’s with teams from all over Kerry.

It was a fantastic day of basketball action and our teams performed really well displaying their teamwork and skills to great effect.

Thanks to the Boys coaches Stephen, Lar, Noelle and Patrick and manger Majella and Girls coaches Denis and Katie.

A big thank you also for everyone involved in running the event including the very popular shop upstairs and for all the parents and friends of the club for donating baked goods and other treats that were available throughout the day.

Garvey’s Tralee Warriors

Thursday 8.00pm to 10.00pm

GARVEY’S TRALEE WARRIORS

Garvey’s Tralee Warriors losing streak continued over the weekend with a hard fought defeat to Black Amber Templeogue by 80-71 at a packed Tralee Sports Complex.

The Warriors performance was a significantly better than in the previous two games but still they came up short against last years Super League champions.

The Tralee side led at the halftime break but a storming third quarter by Templeogue effectively decided the contest to leave the Warriors just inside the top five on the Super League table.

Next up for the Garvey’s Tralee Warriors is the trip to Belfast to take on Belfast Star in the Methodist College at 7.00pm on Saturday night.

Following that they welcome UCC Demons to the Tralee Sports Complex on Sunday the 3rd December with a 3.00pm tip off. And on Friday the 8th December the Warriors head to the Mardyke to face the Demons in a Cup quarter final showdown.
