Win Shield In Pre-Season Tournament

Game 1 , Park FC 2-3 Carrigaline

Park were unlucky to lose there opening game to a late goal. Park conceded two sloppy goals from set pieces. Parks Alfie Christie fired a brace to bring the sides level with Sean McGrath and Mervin Shalemba a constant threat for Park.

Man of Match; Alfie Christie

Shield Semi-Final , Park FC 3 v 0 Aisling Annacotty

Park broke the hoodoo Annacotty had over them having lost to them in the last two seasons in national cup games . Annacotty could not cope with Parks high tempo passing game and when you have a strong spine to the team with James Rusk, Poga McCannon, JR and team captain James Sheehan you have a solid foundation to build on.

Parks flying front three Leon and Mervin Shalemba and the killer instinct in front of goal by Sean McGrath will worry any opposition. A brace from Sean McGrath and the third from Leon Shalemba sent Park into shield final.Three players that deserve a mention are all u13′s Liam Tobin high performance on the left of midfield and Junior at centre half with the versatile Kevin Goulding doing the job anywhere across midfield. Best for Park;Conor Hayes,Liam Tobin,Sean McGrath . Man of Match; James Rusk.

Shield Final , Park FC 5 v 2 Ringmahon Rangers

Park controlled this final from start to finish with Sean McGrath netting a hat-trick and Mervin Shalamba netting a brace.Best for Park;Jordan Barry,Daniel Rourke,Craig O’Brien,Seb Vasiu . Man of Match;Sean McGrath

Pre Season Friendly Away At Camp United ;
The u-12a travel to Camp on Friday evening for our first 11 a side game. It was a dull damp evening leaving Tralee but when we arrived in Camp it was sunny and bright perfect conditions for soccer. We started sluggish and Camp dominated the early stages. They were physical and very good on the ball and went 1 nil up. That seemed to wake us up and Martin Laucher latched onto a leon daly cross and was very close to the equaliser when he dragged his shot wide low to the left and again went close when he volleyed over the bar.

In the second half we flew out of the traps and equalized with the maverick john O’Connor,following a 50 yard dribble from Sean McGrath beat to players a long the way drove into the box and and his cross eventually ending up at the feet of last years top scorer to tuck away a low shot. We then up the tempo even more with MOTM Dylan griffin really giving them trouble with his running in behind.

And with Dylan forcing a corner we went in front with Cian Brosnan making a very clever run round the back to lose his marker and power home the header. We finished off the scoring Matt Healy with a neat finish. We traveled out the with a squad of 18 and every player gave a great account of them selves. There’s plenty more work to do but the future is bright for this talented bunch.

Pre Season Victory Against Listowel Celtic

Well done to all the boys who played in the pre season challenge on Sunday 31st. Great effort and good performance to beat Listowel Celtic U-16Bs 4-0. Two goals from Niall Sertutxa, a penalty from Sean Carmody and a fine strike from Kevin Browne secured the win. We were missing a number of lads who will be pushing for a starting spot on the team so it is a very positive start to the year.

Well done and thanks to the Listowel boys who were unlucky to concede two in the last 5 minutes. We hope to make the reverse trip to Listowel next Sunday morning. See you all at training on Tuesday night. Players to be there for 8.15pm please. Thanks also to Paudie Barrett for an outstanding refereeing performance!
