REPORTS

(Youths) League ; Fenit Samphires 0-2 Park Fc
We got our Youth season off to a winning start today against a well organised and hard working Fenit Samphires team . The first 45 minutes are probably best forgotten as we didn’t register a shot on target and at times failed to put two passes together . The second half was a much better team performance when you consider we were playing into a very strong breeze .

The opening goal came from the head of Segun Duyile mid way through the second half with the second goal a great solo effort by Ryan Dolan in the last ten minutes . We could have added more to the score line but for some outstanding saves from Eoghan o Brien in the Fenit goal . Three points and a clean sheet is a good way to start the season but a lot more needs to be put into our performances if we are to challenge for trophies in the coming months.

Well done to Jack Kelliher who had his first start for the club but unfortunately had to be replaced due to an injury which gave Aaron o Keefe his debut for the club . Special thanks to the Fenit Samphires manager David Staunton who help out when Jack was unable to continue playing, a true gesture of sportsmanship . Also thanks to all the parents who helped with the travel arrangements and who supported the team on a very blustery day .
(U14) SFAI Cup ; Park Fc 6-0 Fairview Rangers

Great team performance today to advance to the third round of the cup. Parks hit-man Sean McGrath netted a first half hat-trick to put Park in control of this cup tie at the break.Leon Shalamba raiding down the right tormented the Fairview defence and scored Parks fourth and only for some top saves by the Fairview keeper could have added a couple of more goals to his name.Parks Alfie Christie added the fifth goal scoring direct from a corner kick.Park captain James Rusk showed his leadership qualities by keeping his team mates focused on there team shape and defensive duties until the final whistle.

Mervin Shalamba netted Parks sixth late in the game.Park midfield duo JR Tshikato and Padraig McCannon work rate and discipline in the middle were the stand out players. Best for Park were James Rusk , Leon Shalemba , Paddy Rourke & Sean McGrath Man of Match, Poga McCannon .
(U12) Premier ; Tralee Dynamos 0-4 Park Fc

On Saturday we made the short trip across to our neighbours Tralee Dynamos. . We switched around a few positions Sean Brosnan going in at centre back for the first time and looked a natural.Adam Walker and Sean McGrath going in at left and right back and along with Jack Twamley they made it a pretty quite day for Sean Broderick in goals. We began the game at one hundred miles an hour and took the lead in the second minute when a Dynamos attack was foiled Arimin Heinrich played a lovely pass into Leon Gallagher’s feet he held off the Dynamos player off played the ball to Jamie who played a great ball over the top for Martin Laucher to give chase he raced on to the excellent pass as the keeper came off his line Martin expertly lifted the ball over the keeper.

A superb finish for his first goal of the season. we continued to press and push for a second and it came in the 18th minute when our captain Leon hit an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area in to the bottom corner. Two nil at half and well worthy of the score line. We began the second half in the same manner as the first half forcing Dynamos on the back foot with Graham Sheehy and Cian Brosnan giving us excellent outlets on the wings with speed and direct dribbling they were creating a number of very good chances but the Dynamos keeper was keeping the scoreline at 2 nil. then man of the match hit hit an absolute bullet of a shot that the keeper failed to hold and it some how found it way into the net 3 nil.

Our fourth and Leon’s second was a WORLDY!! Leon received the ball with his back to goal on the edge of the box got turned beat the first man the second forced him out left he then clipped the ball left footed over in to the far right hand corner a outstanding finish to top a great team performance. Man of the match was very difficult to to decide but in the end Armin was the unanimous decision.

(U12) Div 2 ; Camp 0 – 4 Park

After having played and beaten Camp at home two weeks ago Park’s U12B team were drawn against Camp again this week in the league, this time away. The game got under way at 10.30am in a wet and windy Camp. From the start Park took control of the game with constant pressure despite being against the strong wind. Leon Daly was outstanding on the right wing, making some great passes to the centre forwards.

After 10 minutes or so Mark Brick who plays left full back blasted a lovely shot from outfield and found the back of Camps net. Shortly after that a cross from the right wing found Matt Healy who stuck the ball in the net. 10 minutes before half time, midfielder Robert Vassiu made it 3 for Park with a lovely goal. Park started the second half 3-0 up and continued applying pressure which saw most of the second half played in Camps half of the field.

Mid-way through the half after switching Matt Healy from striker to the wing he scored his second goal and Parks fourth. As in the last encounter the back line of Danny Jeffers, Ryan Guerin, James Charles (captain) and Mark Brick were solid leaving very little for the keeper to do. The game ended 0-4 and puts Park on top of the table with maximum points after 3 games. A good job by the whole team.
