REPORTS ;
(U12) Div 2 ; Park B 5-0 Park C ;
The under 12 B season got off to a flying start with them taking all 3 points from their first competitive game in the league which was against the C team. From the start the B team were on top with a lovely goal from Danny Graney in the first minute. After that the B team kept the pressure on by attacking throughout the first half adding another beautifully headed goal from Matt Healy and leading at half time by 3 goals to Nil having accepted an OG from the opposition.
In the second half which saw some outstanding performances from Danny Jeffers in midfield and Marcello on the left wing another 2 goals were added to the score sheet with another goal from Danny Graney and a cracker from Earnan Ferris who was introduced in the second half. Only for the brilliant goalkeeping skills of Tadhg Reen in goal for the C team the B’s could have scored another a couple more with the chances that they created.Ryan Guerin was solid in defence helping us to keep a clean sheet. Well done to all from Greg and Dominick.
(U14) SFAI Cup ; Tralee Dynamos 2-5 Park Fc ;
Park advance to round two and also claim the bragging rights over their neighbours in this local derby. The opening half saw Park control possession with JR Tshikato, Poga McCannon and Leon Shalamba a constant threat going forward . Park deservedly took the lead on sixteen minutes with an Alfie Christie special from twenty five yards into the v of the goals that no keeper was saving. Parks JR raiding down the right whipped in a great cross only to see his team mate Sean McGrath head over from two yards. Dynamos were a threat on the counter with Sean Kennedy, Brian O’Dowd.
Dynamos shocked the Park scoring two goals in a eight minute spell thru good play by Leo Ghaxia setting up Sean Kennedy for the first of his brace just inside the square and he fired low into the bottom right and it was Kennedy again played in down the right by Sony Rumani and his strike was unstoppable a great goal. Dynamos lead 2 v 1 at the break. Park reacted at half time making two changes introducing Conor Myers and Mervin Shalamba and making a couple of positional changes and this had the desired effect as Park went on to totally dominate the second half.
Parks JR and Leon hit the upright and crossbar minutes into the second half and a Mervin Shalamba strike blocked on the line but it was Parks hot shot Sean McGrath that drew the sides level with a left foot strike from an acute angle finding the inside of the far post. Park was now in total control with wave after wave of attack and Leon Shalamba shot Park into the lead with twenty minutes remaining on the clock.
Park introduced Paddy O’Rourke and Sebastian Vasiu down the left and it was Seb that set up Sean McGrath for his second to give Park breathing space and it was Leon Shalamba that scored Parks fifth killing off any hope dynamos might have for a fight back. Best for Park; James Rusk (Capt.) James Sheehan, Poga McCannon, Sean McGrath, Leon Shalemba. Man of Match; Mervin Shalamba & JR Tshikato .
(U16) SFAI Cup ; Park Fc 11-0 Kilbehenny
The match was close to being forfeited as the Kilbehenny Team just arrived at the kick off time and thankfully the game went a head as this team gave one of their finest performances in the National Cup in a park jersey.
Coming off a crushing league defeat last week the park lads were up this game and what a start, 2mins in Dylan stepped up to smash the ball to the right past the keeper from a goal mouth scramble 1-0 up, This settled the lads and they started to take control of the game in all sectors, Cian and Minors were battling hard in the middle with Kiwi & Deano making great runs down the wings, the park were winning all the 50/50 balls in all areas of the pitch.
The passing and moving style of play was superb, with defense of Maciek, Dave, matt and Eoin rock solid throughout, the lads were dominating and it was only a matter of time before more goals came, Dylan got the next aswellon the 16th min from an assist from Deano and he then became the supplier to Simon for the third 3-0 up mid way thru 1 st half and the lads were masterfull up front, a min to the break, simon was brought down in the box & Eoin stepped up to cooly slot the ball past the Kilbehenny keeper.
4-0 at Half time. 2nd half started in the same manner as the 1st with Dylan getting his hatrick 2mins in, 3mins later Simon made it 6-0 with his brace. Thomas and Joe came on upfront with Kevin & shane into midfield, 59 mins in and Cian crowned off a man of the match performance with a fine strike which knocked the last bit of fight out of the away team, it was all park and with a hatrick from Thomas and a goal from Joe the game ended 11-0, an emphatic and deserved win for the park lads. (U17) Premier ; Castlegregory Celtic 0-4 Park Fc ;
Following their opening draw away to Killarney Celtic, Park were presented with a second tough task away to another Celtic – this time the Castlegregory variety, on a fine, warm Saturday last.  The first half was a tight affair with Park having the majority of possession but with Celtic always dangerous on the break and from set-pieces.
In fact, Park were indebted to keeper, Robbie Dinan who was masterful in the air and produced a superb star jump to keep out a close range header.  However, for the most part Park’s defence of Tomás Leen, skipper Gary Howard, Kevan Foley and debutant Patrick Kearney were very solid and this gave the team the freedom to push forward in possession.  Darcy O’Sullivan was unlucky not to convert Park’s first chance at the back post and Seán Tansley, who was impressive throughout the match, clipped the near post with a fine effort from 25 yards, but it remained deadlocked at the interval.
Park introduced Conor Hurley into their attack for the second half, with Eamonn Sheehy switching to midfield.  Better known as a goalkeeper, “Van Hurley” changed the game with his physical presence and incisive running.  He opened Park’s account on 15 minutes with a decisive finish and just 60 seconds later he found Sheehy who played a deft pass into Donagh O’Brien who shot early and low back across the keeper to make it 0-2.
There was no way back for Castle now and Hurley went close again with an “RVP style” header before he grabbed another goal by smashing home from close range. Park now had Aaron Shanahan on the left for the impressive Shane McGinley and Ronan Duggan on the right for Sheehy who had run his socks off and both subs gave the team renewed energy to keep their attacking strategy.
Unsurprisingly, Hurley was involved in the final goal of the game when O’Brien picked him out from a free-kick and the striker nodded it back for Rory Kelly, who was inspiring all day, to smash a volley into the roof of the net to leave it 4-0 to Park at the finish.
Park: Dinan, Leen, Kearney, Tansley, Howard, Foley, O’Sullivan, Sheehy, O’Brien, Kelly, McGinley. Conor Hurley, Shanahan, Duggan, Cormac Hurley, Simon Lonergan, Gavin Wadding.
