Under 11 (2007)

Under 12 (2006)

our under twelve A team traveled to Killorglin on Saturday last and were on the wrong side of a five nil loss. It was a tough day at the office for these young boys but they a resilant bunch and there is no doubt that will bouce back in the near future.

Under 13 (2005)

Our under thirteen teams are both out this week with the A team haeding to Limerick to play Aisling Annacotty B in the Skecher SFAI Cup and our B team host Kilorglin B in .Christy Leahy Park.

Under 14 (2004)

Park FC 0 Killorglin 0

Rustiness can be defined as impaired by neglect, disuse, or lack of practice and that certainly seemed to be the case for the Park boys in their game against Killorglin on Saturday. Despite playing with a sizable amount of possession the final finish just wasn’t there.

It was however, obvious to everyone that both sides will come on a lot for the game.
Perhaps it was a bit of rustiness on the Killorglin side that saw them fail to open the scoring after twenty seconds.

Park actually kicked off but lost possession easily and suddenly Killorglin were presented with a one v one. Thankfully it was put past the out rushing keeper but also past the post.
It took Park some time to settle and while there were some excellent passages of play, there were also times when better decisions could have been made. Ben Hanafin and Seán Hill were doing well at the back for the Park but overall the spark just seemed to be missing.

Ciaran Cooney had a great chance midway through the half after good work from Sean O’Connor and Colin Doody but his accurate low shot was well saved by the Killorglin keeper.

At the other end Killorglin had a free well dealt with by Liam Carmody. While it was mostly Park possession, they just couldn’t apply the necessary finish. A wonderful move including five different players almost ended with Messiah Chirwa opening the scoring but he was denied by some good Killorglin defending.

Colin Doody was creating problems for Killorglin and chances for Park from his position on the right. One of these should probably have been converted just before half time but again bodies were in the way and the lack of matches was showing.

Sean Hill had an outstanding match at the back for Park and he continued his fine first half performance with several important interceptions in the second as Killorglin opened the half with more possession and some half chances.

The best Park effort on goal in the second half was a pile driver from Cianan Cooney, while David Feeley was just a whisker away from connecting with an excellent Seán O’Connell delivery late in the half.

Nil all it finished and while it felt like two points dropped for the Park boys, they will have to be very happy with some of their passing and play.

All of the lads worked exceptionally hard and without doubt, will improve immeasurably as the season continues. Hopefully the rustiness has been removed.

Training continues on Monday and Thursday nights.

Thanks to all the parents who as always were there in numbers to support the team and to Colm McLoughlin for setting up the pitch.
