Juvenile Academy

Our u8’s and 10’s will be competing in the annual John Mitchels Blitz which takes place this Saturday, the 23rd at 10.15 am. Teams are advised to be there for 10am. We wish our U8’s and 10’s the best of luck on Saturday.

U6: Our U6 Academy along with the U8 and 10’s made the short trip to Camp last Sunday when they were hosted by Annascaul for some fun games in which all our players acquitted themselves very well. The games were played in a fun and friendly manner and we would like to use this opportunity to thank the Academy of Annascaul GAA for hosting us.

U8: In ideal weather conditions we had a great game with the Annascaul under-8’s last Sunday in the Camp pitch. It took our panel a few minutes to settle in to the pace being set by the Annascaul players. Once we got into the game we played very well starting at the back with Ben’s kickouts.

Ródhan, Ryan, Jame, Keelin and Gearóid battled well for possession to get the ball into our forwards. Sharon, Eddie, Cian, Niamh and Steven came up against a good defence however their persistence paid off with some great scores and in particular good point scoring from Steven. It was great to see Shane back in the action again.

The John Mitchel’s annual U8 and U10 boys blitz will take place next Saturday 23rd of September at John Mitchel’s Complex, Ballyseedy. All players to meet at John Mitchel’s Ballyseedy at 10.00am sharp, blitz should finish around 2.00p.m.

Please note for this blitz players will not be allowed to play if they don’t wear a gumshield. Do bring some light refreshments and drinks to keep the energy levels up.

This is a great blitz that we have participated in for the past few years and we need all of our under eight players to be present so looking forward to seeing everyone there. If you are not sure where the entrance to the Mitchell’s pitch is have a look at their website.

U10: St Pats U-10’s traveled to Camp last Sunday morning to play their West Kerry neighbours Annascaul in a Fun Go Game.

All our St Pats future stars played very well on the day. Some of the highlights were Luke Passways strong kicking; Aiden Hayes quick hand passes; Rory Daly’s lovely pick up; Mark O’Brien’s accurate score taking; Michael Enright’s close marking; Daniel Sheehy’s accurate kick passes, Grainne Breen’s solo run with the ball; Jack Costello’s unbelievable work rate up and down the field, Darragh Murphy’s great handling of ball; Caoilainn Culloo’s excellent tackling; Gary Scollard’s wonderful point which nearly broke the crossbar on the way over; Eddie Stacks quick turn and kick for a great point; Rory Kellihers close control of the ball in possession; Killian O’Mahony getting his hands in dispossessing his opponents. The coaches were delighted with effort each player gave on the morning. We are back in action again next Saturday morning 23rd in the Mitchell’s tournament please be there for 10am and continue practicing during the week. Naomh Padraig Abú…

U12 Mixed: Central Region St Pats 3-10 Na Gaeil 5-16

We welcomed Na Gaeil to Blennerville last Monday evening in a return fixture of the Central Region competition. After a titanic battle in which some excellent scores were taken on both sides, we came out on the wrong side after conceeding 2 late goals and a late surge that saw our opponents outscoring us at this late stage. Our lads deserve credit for the way they never gave up and tried all the way to the end.

Team and scorers: Seanie Murphy (0-2), James Dowling, Keelin Enright, Fionn Dairo (0-2), Zack Howarth, Paddy Moran, Josh Quilter (0-1), Daniel Sheehy (0-2), Rachel Mulgrew, Callum Houston (2-2), Rory Kelliher, Eddie Stack, Orlaith Murphy, Diarmuid Waugh (0-1), Callum Hayes (1-0)

U12 Girls: Training continues this Thursday at 6pm in the field

U14: Training continues this Thursday at 6.15pm in the field.

U16: Our U16’s were defeated by Kerins O’Rahillys in Div 1 of the Tralee Town Board League last Sunday. Our next game is this Sunday, the 24th when we play Na Gaeil away at 12 noon.

Gym

A great way to burn calories and keep fit especially as the days are getting shorter is to avail of our gym facilities located in the old club house, now known as the community rooms. The gym is open to paid members only for insurance purposes and the times are Monday – Thursday @ 8.30-9.30pm and Saturday @ 5-6pm. Contact PJ Higgins or John Bowler Jnr for more details.

Scór na nOg

St Pats are looking for musicians, singers and budding actors for Scor na nOg . If interested, we would like to meet you in our community rooms this Friday evening, the 22nd @ 8pm. This competition is open to all secondary school students .

Astro Pitch

Our all-weather astro pitch is available for hire at very competitive rates. It is flood-lit, so training or whatever use you may have for it can also be accomplished in the evenings now that the days are getting shorter. Contact James Costello on 0862908735 for booking and more information.
