Juvenile Academy

Last Sunday saw the curtains come down on a very busy and successful Academy for 2017. We hope all our kids and their parents/guardians enjoyed it as much as we have. Our future stars were presented with certificates of achievement for their endeavours throughout Acadamh Peile 2017 by the respective head coaches; Conor Culloo (U6), Seamus Murphy (U8) and Johnny Enright (U10). We hope that your family will return in January 2018 and that each child will keep practicing in the interim.

Thanks to all the coaches, mentors, parents and helpers who worked hard during the year. Until 2018.

U8: It’s hard to believe that another year of the Academy has come to a close as it did with our final session last Sunday for the under eight’s. We started out in early January with our indoor sessions in the Presentation School Gym and progressed to our outdoor sessions mainly on the club’s all-weather pitch. Our under eight players enjoyed much fun and continued the development their football skills at our Sunday morning sessions. They have also participated in various Go-game games at home and away with Ballyheigue, Churchill, Castlegregory, Annascaul, Na Gael, Kerins O’Rahillys and in the annual John Mitchell’s blitz. Most of our players would also have taken part in the summer Cúl Camp held in St. Pat’s. So well done to Ródhan Culloo, James Daly, Ben Deegan, Stephen Enright, Sharon Enright, Ryan Fitzgerald, Rían Flynn, Sarah Greaney, Eddie Hayes, Gearóid Hingston, Sam Jones, Aoife Kennedy, Nikodem Lukasz, Patryk Lukasz, Niamh Murphy, Cian O’Halloran, Shane O’Neill, Chloe Passway and Keelin Sinnott for your commitment during the year. Thanks also to your parents for getting you to the Academy sessions and the various games.

It is very important that you all keep practising your skills at home and we are looking forward to seeing you all back at the Academy in early January of 2018.

U10: The curtain came down on the St Pats u-10 season last Sunday morning. After 35 + sessions including training sessions indoor and outdoor, games, blitz’s and tournaments, a parade through Tralee on St Patrick’s day, Scór, a walk on the Dingle way challenge. As usual there was a great turnout of Boys & Girls who were all presented with beautiful  St Pats certs for the great progress they made with their football skills during the year. Huge credit is due to the players for the effort they gave during the year. The u-10 management of Johnny Enright & John Breen would like to thank them all. Also a special  thanks to our young St Pats future coaches Jack Lynch, James Stack and Seanie Hogan for helping out with the u-10 academy sessions during the year. Thanks to our Juvenile coordinator Seamus Murphy, our Juvenile chairperson Marie Fitzgibbon, Juvenile secretary Brenda Doody, club PRO Dipo Dairo and all the parents for their help during the year. It is important our U10’s all keep practicing their skills at home during the off season. I would also encourage our players to take part in the free park run in Tralee at the weekends, it helps improve the development our players. We wish the players moving on to U 12’s all the best and we look forward to watching you continue to progress in your football development  in  2018.  Naomh Padraig abú.
