Juvenile Academy

Our young stars from U6 – U10 returned to training last Sunday at Cumann Iosaef Hall after a long hibernation over the winter. U6 and U8’s trained from 10am to 11am and the U10’s from 11am to 12 noon. The attendance was very encouraging and all kids showed a very positive and enthusiastic start to the year.

If you are interested in enroling your child with St Pats, please contact club coaching officer Seamus Murphy on 087-9249531. Everyone is welcome and parents are encouraged to get involved and support our future stars.

U6: Well done to Oscar Curran, James Riordan and Grace Costello who put in a great training session last Sunday morning but a huge well done to Hannah Enright who was the first player of the week for 2018 by showing great skill and determination. Keep up the good work.

U8: The Academy is back with a blast with great attendance and participation in all of the sessions last Sunday ….so welcome back to all of the under 8 footballers who jumped, hopped, skipped and ran around the Sports Hall in the Cumann Iosaef Centre. A special welcome was given to the newer members of this age group namely Hugh Costello, Tommy Costello, Bradley Hunt and Isaac Price. Of course it was great to meet up again with many of the under eights from last year including Niamh Murphy, James Daly, Ben Deegan, Stephen Enright, Rían Flynn, Chloe Passway, Eddie Hayes, Gearóid Hingston and Sharon Enright. We look forward to the return of some more of our young footballers at our weekly indoor sessions on Sundays from 10a.m. to 11a.m. in Cumann Iosaef Sports Hall.

It’s important to do some practice at home during the week so this week we want you to practice one of the exercises we did on Sunday last: just throw the ball into the air, clap your hands behind your back and catch the ball on the way down. Try to practice for at least 10 minutes two days during the week.

Seniors

Our seniors have been training for the 2018 season for a number of weeks. This year, the team is under the watchful eye of manager, Joe Costello. He will ably be assisted by selectors Eoin Sayers and John Reen. We wish them the best of luck for the year ahead.

The senior’s first game is scheduled for this Sunday, the 21st of January against Ardfert. This is a home game but because the condition of our field is unplayable at the moment, this match has been moved to the John Mitchels Complex at 12 noon for this St Brendan’s League fixture.
