Juveniles

U14 Boys: We welcomed neighbours, Kerins O’Rahilly’s B to Blennerville last Monday night for a Central Region round 2 encounter. Playing with a much depleted squad of 10 players meant our backs were up right from the throw in but our boys gave everything they had. Eventually we lost out on a score line of 2-08 to KOR’s 4-10 but credit to the boys that turned up on the night and a special mention to James Dowling for his heroic performance, yet again.

Senior B Team

On Friday 6th of July, we travel to Listowel to take on Listowel Emmets in a round 5 fixture. Throw in for this match is at 7.30pm. Your support will be most welcome at these venues.

Seniors

SFL Division 3 Round 8

St Pats 0-12 Ballydonoghue 2-11

Visitors, Ballydonoghue claimed the 2 points at stake when they overcame st Pats in Round 8, Division 3 of the Senior Football League last Sunday in Blennerville in which Ballydonoghue’s full forward, Paul Kennelly scored 7 points with 4 of them from frees.

Playing under perfect conditions, Ballydonoghue’s Tommy Kennelly took only a minute to register the first score of the game from play but this was cancelled out by a Willie Hurley free after 5 minutes. Tommy Kennelly took advantage of a lapse in concentration in the defence line of St Pats when he found space to slot past Fizzy on 8 minutes. They added a second goal late into the half as they took a 2-5 to 0-6 lead to the break.

2 quick points at the start of the second half from Willie Hurley and Luke Mulligan reduced the deficit to 3 points but Paul Kennelly scored a brace to restore their 5 point advantage. St Pats went in search of opportunities to close the gap on the visitors but were met with a 14 man blanket defence set-up which St Pats found a battle to break thereby forcing the home side to shoot from long range. Willie Hurley pointed from a free and two minutes later, added a long range effort but it was not enough as the away side ran out winners on a score line of 2-11 to St Pats’ 12 points.
