U10: Well done to all our U10 squad who played very well in a Blitz hosted by Ballyheigue last week. We had games against Ballyheigue, Ardfert and Churchill. Thanks to all the parents for getting our young players there and to Ballyheigue for hosting the Blitz.

U14 Boys: Our U14’s played Milltown-Castlemaine B in a Central Region fixture last Monday and showed great determination but lost out in the end on a score line of Milltown-Castlemaine B 1-12 to St Pats 2-06

Next fixture is a round 5 encounter against Austin Stacks B in Blennerville on Monday, 16th July in Blennerville. Please come and support the team.

U16: Our U16 boys got their season off to a start with their first game at home to Stacks B last Wednesday in the County League. Playing in sunny Blennerville, this was a game that our boys controlled throughout the duration of the match as they ran out winners on a score line of St Pats 3-4 to Stacks B 2-2.

Our next match is also at home to Beale this Wednesday, the 18th of July at 7pm. Your support will be appreciated.

Senior B Team

Our Round 4 match against An Ghaeltacht is now scheduled to be played this Monday the 16th of July at 8pm in Blennerville. The semi-finals of this competition are to be played on Friday, 20th of July.

Seniors

Our seniors travelled to Mountcoal last Saturday evening to take on St Senans in a Round 9 fixture of the Division 3 County League but unfortunately, the home side claimed victory in a match that both sides needed to win.

St Senans were quick off the mark registering a point from play as early as the first minute but was cancelled by an Eoin Greaney free a minute later. From then on, it was one-way traffic as St Senans, being the more direct side seized control of the half and registered 3 point on the trot.

Paul McMahon split the post from a long range effort on 11 minutes and this was quickly followed by Jake Foley’s cleverly taken point to reduce the deficit to a single point but St Senans kicked off from there to score 4 unanswered points as the first half ended 8 points to 3 in favour of the home side.

At the start of the 2nd half, David O’Callaghan came on for Shane Doyle and he tried to make things happen but was closely marked each time he had the ball. Lady luck smiled on the home side when a routine side line free looped over Fizzy and into the net, further stretching their lead to 8 points.

Willie Hurley converted a free 12 minutes into the half for our first score of this half. Liam Poff was also called into action to shore up the defence in between frees pointed by Willie and David and once again, the home side ran at our defence, scoring 3 points in a row to lead by 10 after 20 minutes. This proved to be the last time St Senans scored as St Pats rallied and scored 6 straight points in the process but unfortunately, it was not enough to secure victory or a share of the spoils as time ran out on what was a St Pats comeback as the match ended on a score line of St Senans 1-12 to St Pats 11 points.

St Pats: John Fitzgerald, Joe O’Connor, Tommy Lynch, Cillian O’Riordan, Killian Quirke, Kieran Dwyer, Jordan Conway, Liam O’Sullivan, Paul McMahon (0-01), Gary Savage, Breandáin Savage, Jake Foley (0-01), Eoin Greaney (0-01), Willie Hurley (0-02, 1f), Shane Doyle

Subs: David O’Callaghan (0-06, 4f) for Shane Doyle and Liam Poff for Gary Savage
