There was no winner of our Club Lotto Jackpot on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 08, 14, 15 & 18. The five €30 consolation prizes went to Francie Roche c/o Mono Ryle, Joe Costello Ballydunlea , Olga Pitvchola Kileen Rd, Tralee , Mike Greaney Annagh and Brendan and Shannon Quill Lohercannon .
Next week’s Lotto will have a Jackpot of €6,100 and the draw will take place on Monday night June 03rd in Skelper Quane’s Bar. Dingle Way Challenge 2019
Our annual Dingle Way Challenge, mainly sponsored by Poff Motors and Top Part for the second year running is now upon us and is taking place at the weekend- 2nd June (June Bank Holiday weekend) and as usual, walkers will have a couple of choices, both of which takes in breath-taking views. The forecast is great for the day, so come on and enjoy these views that the West has to offer.
Think Luke Skywalker, Páidí Ó Sé and Tom Crean – all in one day!!!
All the usual services will be there such as hot breakfast, lunch, BBQ, bus transfers, Ambulance support etc. The list goes on…

Juvenile Academy
U6: Thanks so much to all the parents for contributing generously to a fun family day of football against Listry. Under 6s had matches lead by Fiacc and Norma & all enjoyed the hype of the big day! On the catering side we clubbed together to provide enough food for the academy, visiting club, and even the senior game!! Very well done to all & especially Marie Fitzgibbon for coordinating the feeding frenzy!!
I stepped back from my usual role to publicize the Dingle Way Challenge which promises to be a great day out next Sunday.
We had rowdy fun and games with music on the AstroTurf during the senior game, this held a great crowd to support their respective senior teams. Well done to all involved. We showed a great community spirit within the club today and fantastic involvement from our parents and well behaved children!! Well done all!!

U8’s and U10’s Vs Listry: Last Sunday, we hosted Listry at Under 8 and 10’s in Blennerville as a prelude to the Senior County League game between both clubs. Listry travelled in great numbers and we had 4 great games; 2 at each age group with all kids seeing plenty of game time. A big thank you to Juvenile Chairman Fergus Clifford from Listry for accepting the invitation and co-ordinating the Listry teams. The idea of this event was to build the links of our academy parents and kids with our senior team. It was a big undertaking to try and host over 100 kids and parents but the support of the members of the club was outstanding. There was a huge amount of people who made this event possible and apologies if I have left someone out but here are a couple of thank you’s in particular:

Finally, the biggest thanks goes to all the parents of the academy kids for the huge amount of sandwiches, cakes, buns, confectionary and drinks that they produced on the day and also assisting in ensuring that all parents and children were well fed after the games. Listry were blown away by the level of hospitality shown to them. It conveyed the club in a superb manner and the club really appreciate your support in making the day a huge success.
U8: We had two great games vs Listry last Sunday. It is very evident that the boys and girls are improving with every game they play. In the red team, we had great performances from The Flynn twins, Darragh Sheehan, Protnu Pal and Grace Costello and in the white team, we had sterling games from Thomas Higgins, Noah Flynn, Cillian Enright and Erika Balode. We will host our leg of the St Brendan’s Under 8 Go Games Blitz this Thursday May 30th at 630pm.
All players to be there for 6:15pm. We will then take a break in the academy on Sunday June 2nd as the Dingle Way Challenge takes place. We would urge any parents that love the outdoors and walking to register for the event.
The forecast (as of now!) is good for the weekend so it promises to be a great day in Chorca Dhuibhne. For those that are not keen on walking but would like to assist, please let Joe know as there are plenty of jobs to be done on the day! The academy will resume on Sunday week June 9th at 10:30am.
U10: Our under-10 players had a busy sequence of football in the last week. On Tuesday the 21st they played in a Go-game blitz hosted by Churchill GAA club at their pitch in the Spa. The standard of play and team work improved as the team progressed through the three games so well done to all of the players.
On Friday evening we were back on the training ground where we had an enthusiastic group working on improving their point scoring skills and their kick passing in the end of session game. The standard of this young group of players is improving all the time which makes the choice of Player of the Week a little harder each time and we congratulate Hugh on receiving the trophy last week.
On Sunday we had the visit of the Listry Club under-10 team and the numbers were sufficient to have two 9-a-side teams from each club. This allowed all our players to have 2 wholehearted games of 20 minutes each.
No effort was spared by either of our teams with some great scores and defensive work. One of the standout scores was from a kick pass by James to Sharon who made a great catch and swiftly passed to Amy who with the minimum of fuss took aim and fired the ball over for a magnificent point. Let’s hope we see more of that play from Sharon and Amy.
After the games the visitors and our own players enjoyed the fantastic array of refreshments that were available thanks to the many parents who provided sandwiches, scones and assorted goodies. Well done to Joe for the organisation and to all who helped on Sunday last.
U12: St Pats U-12’s were away to Ballydonoghue/Clounmacon last Sunday in their first game of phase 2 of the County League. When the long whistle sounded at the end of highly entertaining close game, our St Pats future stars were the happier side.
All our players put in a huge effort and played their hearts outs to the very end. Michael Enright’s kick outs were very accurate. Liam O Connor made some vital tackles preventing his opponent from scoring. Enda Sheehan won possession in front of his opponent all evening, Jack Costello drove forward from centreback and chipped in for some wonderful scores including the winning goal at the end.
Young Rodhan Culloo stuck to his opponent like super glue all evening and didn’t give him a kick, Daniel Sheehy and Darragh Murphy combined brilliantly and worked their socks off all over the pitch.
They both contributed every well to the score board. Up front Killian O’ Mahony lead by example and kicked some outstanding points. Young Conor Sheehan scored one of the best goals I’ve seeing in a long time, Luke Passway was a real handful for his opposite number all evening and kicked a lovely pass to his teammate for a goal, Rory Daly, who is improving with every game, tackled brilliantly and never left the opposition come out easy from defence.
It’s important ye all continue to attend our upcoming games and training sessions and also keep practicing yer skills at home during the week. The training and match schedule for the week will be circulated shortly Naomh Pádraig Abú!!
U14 Girls: We are away to Castlegregory in Round 5 of the Non County Player County League towards the end of the week. Once details are finalised, we will communicate via the usual manner. Training continues on Wednesday on the pitch at 6pm.
U17: Our U17’s are now drawn in Group 6 of the U17 competition following our loss to SPa and a strong Asdee/Ballylongford/Ballydonoghue last Wednesday. We are grouped with Castleisland Desmonds – the host team, Spa, and St Michaels Foilmore. Fixtures are as follows: St Michaels Foilmore v St Pats at 6.45pm, Castleisland Desmond v St Pats at 7.25pm and Spa v St Pats at 8.05pm. All games are 10 minutes a side.
Co. Junior Football League 2019
We are at home in Round 2 of the Junior Football League against Dingle C this Friday, 31st May at 7.30pm. Best of luck to Tommy Lynch and the panel.
Seniors
We lost our round 4 County League home game against Listry last Sunday, conceding a late goal, which ultimately made the difference as the match ended on a 1-10 to 1-13 score line.

This scribe has it on good authority that two members of the coaching staff got their “Bally’s” confused when travelling to the Under-12 game last Sunday. The two coaches in question were standing in an empty Ballylongford pitch when they received a call from Johnny who was with the team and supporters in Ballydonoghue pitch enquiring as to their whereabouts.
The passenger has denied all responsibility for the extended tour of north Kerry while the driver says he was using a Ryanair app….which everyone knows will take you at least 10 miles from your required destination!
Blennerville/Ballyard Community Games
Congratulations to our amazing athletes from Blennerville/Ballyard who took part yesterday in the national community games finals in UL. AOIBHINN MCCARTHY was part of the U12 mixed distance relay team that finished 2nd getting a silver medal, RACHEL MULGREW was part of the U14 mixed distance relay team and they came in 4th getting a pewter medal and OISIN MURRAY was first home in the marathon getting a well-deserved Gold medal and the Kerry team finished 4th overall.
Cul Camp 2019
The St Pats Cul Camp will take place between the 5th and 9th of August from 10am to 2.30pm every day. The Camp provides boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13 with action packed and fun-filled week of activities during the summer holidays.
Cost is €60 per child with reductions (€55 for second child and €45 for third and fourth child) for additional members of the family. Booking can be made online at the Cul Camp official website or on the first morning of the Camp. Each child will receive FREE Kellog’s GAA gear and backpack.
