Academy

U6: We had a great turnout of 20 under 6s on a fabulous morning on the AstroTurf. Great to see the new comers back in action today. It was Tadgh Murphy who earned himself the trophy this week for a great session & interest from the start! Well done!

We had fun speed games with emphasis on visual awareness, ball skills with movement, kicking drills & goal scoring! We finish with matches this session, the senior group are progressing every week with a good understanding of the game.

Great to have plenty of girls as regular attenders, this is fantastic for the club & we would be delighted to keep up the girl numbers going forward which might allow us to develop girl only training groups as the age’s progress. Emma Higgins was fantastic today, all that kicking at home is paying off!!
Keep up the movement & ball handling throughout the week! Gooo St Pats!!

U8: The under 8’s had a great session last Sunday in perfect dry conditions. Coaches Joe, John x2 and Roger put them through their paces on agility, hand and kick passing and mastering the pick up. We then brought what the kids had learned into a game which was very competitive and ended in a draw.

A big congratulationsto Erika Balode who got player of the week. Erika is one of our regular attendee’s so she is a well-deserved recipient this week. There is no academy next Sunday for our under 8’s as we will be participating in the John Mitchels blitz the day before, on Saturday Sept 21st.

The blitz will take place at their complex, starting at 10am and finishing at approx 2:30pm. We are allowed to enter only one team, 11 a side, but we are inviting all players to attend and we as coaches will do our best to give all players as much game time as possible. All players are to meet at John Mitchels at 9:50am. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water for your child. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Juveniles

U14 Girls: Best of luck to our girls who will be playing Listowel Emmets B in the Plate final this Wednesday, the 18th of September in Blennerville at 6.30pm.

Senior Football Championship

Best of luck to St Brendan’s Senior team who play East Kerry in round 1 of the SFC this Sunday, the 22nd of September at 1.30pm in Austin Stack Park with extra time and a result on the day. Former St Pats star, Seamus Murphy is the team manager, so we urge all our supporters to turn up for what promises to be a cracking match.

All-Ireland SFC Final

Hard luck to Peter Keane and the Kerry team who lost to Dublin in the replay of the All-Ireland SFC final. The lads gave it their all but it wasn’t good enough however, there are exciting times ahead for this predominantly young team.

Sympathy

The club would like to extend its sympathy to the families and friends of David Fitzgerald Clahane, Dick Mason Caherlaheen and Louise O’Leary Clogherbrien.
