The five €30 consolation prizes went to Anne Knowles St. John’s Park, Johnny Enright Derrymore West, Paul Clapham c/o Betty’s Bar, Richard Diggins Tonevane and Vera Rayment Killarney. Next week’s Lotto will have a Jackpot of €2,000 and the draw will take place this Sunday night August 9th in O’Dwyer’s Bar. Lotto tickets are available from the usual outlets or any club officer.

U-12s:

Our U 12s gave a tour de force performance in Croke Park on Sunday last against the pick of 9 x Kildare clubs.  Led onto the pitch by the famous Artane Boys Band and wearing Green and Gold jerseys, our astute coaches Dan & Mike asked for a strong start and on the first play of the game, the excellent Danny Greaney broke through the middle of the Croke Park pitch and stuck a great goal at the Davin End.

His midfield partner, the outstanding Tomas O’Sullivan fielded a lond kick out and did likewise on the next attack after a deft pass from Aaron Murphy having been put through by Oisin Tobin.

The Lilywhites threw everything into attack but some outstanding goalkeeping from the agile David Fiado attracted loud applause from  the Cusack & Hogan stands.

Courageous defending from the lion hearted Michael Doody & Liam O’Sullivan and relieving runs from the ranging Cillian Lynch and Daniel Moriarty absorbed much Kildare pressure and ensured that we kept a clean sheet at the Hill 16 end.  Colin Doody produced a lethal 2 goal cameo when put into space by the hardworking dynamo Sean Crowley.

Eoin and Raphael introduced Corey O’ Shea and Nathan Moriarty and Danny sealed the day with the final score of the game.
Final Score St Pats U 12s 4 – 01, Kildare U 12s 0-07.

We are extremely proud of our future stars who represented themselves, their families and our great club with distinction and sportsmanship at GAA headquarters.

After their great battle, they were led off the pitch while marching behind the Artane Boys Band and into the tunnel underneath the Cusack Stand where they enjoyed refreshments in the hospitality suite.

There are some wonderful photos of our day on www.stpatsblennerville.com / facebook.  Thanks to our bus load of loyal supporters who made themselves heard all around the famous stadium and to James Ryall who transported us and to the Doody family for supplying refreshments.  Colm Cooper heard of how our lads opened up their Kildare counterparts scoring 4 goals and this led the way for the Kerry seniors to do likewise
