Juvenile Academy

U6: We had a good turnout last Sunday for our boys and girls. Well done to Rian, our player of the week who showed tremendous effort and skills during the session. Don’t forget to keep practicing your skills during the week. Training continues next Sunday at the Kerry Sports Academy Hall at 10am.

U8: Great effort by all our u8 squad in the new Sports Academy on Sunday.

We focused on the basic skills with a lot of work done on soloing and the pick-up. We finished with a series of matches that had fantastic effort and skill levels.

Please keep an eye out for more coaching videos this week. 10-15 minutes of work at home will make a big difference.

U10: Another great turnout at our session last Sunday morning, it’s really good to see the enthusiasm of this group of boys and girls every Sunday morning.  Last Sunday we put the emphasis on giving a good kick-pass and improving the skill of kicking with the weaker foot. Thanks to their parents for the getting them to the Sports Academy early on Sunday mornings and we ask that parents encourage our young players to do some practice during the week. The practice can be anything from hopping the ball, to throwing the ball in the air and catching it or kicking the ball. During the Sunday morning sessions we show the players how to execute a skill however unless it is practised at home during the week it will take longer to become proficient in the particular skill.
Our player of the week was Lainey who participated in the Park run before putting in a fully energised hour at our session and showing good skill during the games….well done to Lainey.

U12: Training continues this Wednesday at the usual time of 4.45pm to 6pm.

U14: Our first game in the Tralee Town Board League against Na Gaeil had to be called off due to both teams having unplayable pitches following last week’s heavy rain. We will keep you informed with the new date and venue.

We are away to Stacks (B) on Sunday, 1st March at 11am for round 2 of the Tralee Town Board League weather permitting. Training however continues this Thursday evening from 5.45pm to 7pm.

U16: Training continues every Friday night from 5:30pm to 7pm on our astro pitch. For further queries, please contact Liam (086-3786468) & Luke (087-2862363).
