Lotto

Our club lotto remains suspended due to Covid-19. While this is a regrettable decision it is necessary to safeguard the health of our club officer’s lotto players and our many promoters. We will gradually be restarting activities over the next month in line with Government and GAA advice.

We thank all our promoters and supporters of the St. Pats Club Lotto and we look forward to your support again hopefully in the not too distant future.

GAA Covid-19 Update

The following changes to the return to activity guidelines are being made after recommendations from this morning’s Covid-19 Advisory Committee.

These changes were subsequently endorsed by the GAA, the Camogie Association and the LGFA.

From this week:

Open pitches for Adult training next Wednesday, June 24th.
Open for Minor and below from Saturday, June 27th.
Both of the above on a non-contact basis and on the understanding that players and all participants have completed the eLearning module and are following the control measures in place (health questionnaire etc).
On the basis of a maximum of 15 players in a designated area of the field (26 Counties) and 10 players in a designated area of the field (6 Counties).
Coaching numbers for underage teams to be consistent with Code of Behaviour.
From June 29th:

Allow contact training and challenge games for all from Monday, June 29th (26 Counties).
We await guidance from the NI Executive in relation to 6 Counties – non-contact training in the numbers outlined above in the interim.
We also await clarification on what will constitute a close contact versus a casual contact.
Restriction on participants-only attending training sessions to be relaxed from June 29th – subject to government specified maximum of 200 people in the ground.
Allow Club Fixtures from Friday July 17th (Club Football Championship is expected to start 2 weeks earlier than previously advertised).
No change to inter-county dates (Sept 14th for training; competitions to start on Oct 17th as planned).
All control measures for players, coaches and other team personnel (completion of health questionnaire, eLearning education etc) is to remain in place until advised otherwise; dressing rooms to remain closed until July 20th
The Advisory Committee is considering the position in relation to other GAA buildings (such as Club bars that are serving food, Gyms, Handball alleys etc). Guidance will be provided in this context before June 29th.

Covid-19 Education Programme for Coaches, Mentors and Players

Some key control measures have been introduced in line with public health guidance measures aimed at minimising the risk of Covid-19 transmission and every person involved in Gaelic games has a responsibility to adhere to them at all times. A summary of these key measures are:

Education and awareness – ensure continued awareness of safety protocols relating to your role
Pre-attendance screening – All players and personnel will be required to complete a health questionnaire before attending games or training until further notice
Adhere to hygiene best practice – frequent hand washing/ sanitising, and regular cleaning/washing of gear and equipment; avoid spitting, sharing water bottles and wearing of face masks where applicable.
Observe social distancing guidelines (currently 2m) until further notice
Avoid or reduce body contact to a minimum – shaking/clapping hands must be avoided
No access to changerooms – All clubhouses, changerooms and shower areas are not to be used until further notice. Toilets will be available but on a controlled basis
Travel to and from training – if possible, walk or cycle to venue. If travelling by private vehicle, only travel with members of the same household.
Refrain from team meetings – eliminate all non-essential gatherings. Where possible, team meetings should be held outdoors or in spaces that allow for compliance with social distancing guidelines
Outdoor training sessions – all players and teams must conduct their training outdoors; there will no changing facilities available for same until further notice.
