Juveniles

U6: Well done to the 15 boys & girls who braved the elements for our penultimate training session this year. We used the wind to our advantage & had great fun running & scoring points against the coaches with the help of the wind. It’s great to see the improvement in kicking skills on the move rather than static. We had lots of coaching help today & parent support so had great fun with roller ball challenges.. some very quick dancing feet on show!
We welcomed more new players to the club this week, great to have growing numbers in these uncertain times.
Emma Higgins earned the player of the week trophy for consistent improvement & evolving skills over the last few months.. its clear the practice with her older brother is paying off!
Very well done to Nicholas O’Shea for some great point kicking on the move & well done to Ronan Kane for some great goal keeping saves.
We finish up next Sunday morning with training at 10.30am followed by certificate presentation. We hope to have a big turnout to end a successful season despite our COVID19 interruption.
There will be a shake up to coaching structure & age groups next year (more detail to follow). Any parents wishing to get involved in coaching or in any organisational capacity will be more than welcome, please contact Fiona.

U8: We welcomed Kerins ORahillys to Blennerville today for some fun games.

Despite a biting wind and heavy underfoot conditions the skill level and effort by all was great to see.

Well done to all.

U10: We made the short trip to the Ballyrickard Grounds of the Kerins O’Rahillys Club last Sunday morning for our last challenge game of the season.  Once again, we divided our panel of players into 2 smaller teams which meant that all the players present got to play a complete game for an hour

The White team played a very entertaining game against the local opposition with some wonderful displays from our St Pats future stars goalkeeper Dylan Passway with cat like reflexes saved some certain goals. He was well protected by his older sister Chloe and Eddie Hayes. Around the middle Issac Price & Thomas Colivet got their hands on plenty of ball while up front Dee Hanley, Seamus Hingston and super sub Darragh Flahive kept the scoreboard ticking over.

Meanwhile our Red team were engaged in a real ding-dong struggle with their O’Rahilly’s opponents. This was probably the best display of combined teamwork that we have seen from this group of players this season. A hallmark of the display was the hand and kick passing to pick out better placed team mates along with great support running.  This was a great game for the spectators to watch as with all games at this level the players on both sides give it their all with lots of good skill and no negative play.

Wells done to Gearóid Hingston, Tommy Costello, Rory Daly, James Daly, Hugh Costello, Jack Flahive, Rian Flynn, Ben O’Leary and Stephen Enright.

Our thanks to the Kerins O’Rahilly’s coaches for welcoming us to their Club grounds and to their players for such good quality and sporting games.

We are coming to the end of our season and we have just two sessions left, on Friday evening at 6 to 7 pm and on Sunday morning at 10:30am. It would be great if all players can be present for our last two sessions and if you can get in some practice during the week. Naomh Pádraig Abú !!

U12: Thanks to our neighbours Keel who visited us on Friday last for high scoring and closely contested development games.

Jamie Bowler continues to score goals and another feature was the point scoring from attacking half backs Liam O’Connor & Gary Scollard while Ródhan Culloo in goals was outstanding.

Well done to some debutants who joined U 12 ranks also on Friday last.

These were our 18th games of the season and again super skills and teamwork were on display from all players in both games.

U13: Well done to the 18 boys who togged out last Wednesday evening in our 7 a-side blitz against Churchill in Blennerville. Both teams put in a great effort and it was great to see some player’s steadily improving.
