Many thanks to all who contribute to our weekly Club Lotto. The Club cannot emphasise enough the importance of our members promoting the Club Lotto among family, friends and work colleagues. The Covid-19 restrictions have seriously hampered our fundraising and income over the last 18 months. The Lotto is now a critical source of funds for the Club. We are appealing to all club members to promote our lotto at this time to ensure our clubs future viability.

Juvenile Academy
U5’s: Great fun was had by all the girls and boys who were at U5 training Sunday morning.
A brief rain shower didn’t put anyone off and there was great skill on display at the passing, catching, kicking and ball handling skill stations.
The session was finished off with an obstacle course and the firm favourite “Sharks and Fishes”.
Sean O’Sullivan has been a consistent presence at nearly every session and his overall commitment and strong kicking earned him player of the week.
U7’s: Our U7 team had a great outing in John Mitchels on Sunday morning for an exciting Go Games Blitz. Well done to our boys and girls who showed great team work. Their football skills are coming on well. Keep up the practice at home everyone.
U8 Girls: There was no training this weekend for this age group as many joined up with other age group matches. Training will continue next Sunday morning in St Pats.
U9’s: Well done to all the lads who braved the showers on Sunday for another fun session. After some excellent soloing and hand passing we went into a game where captain AJ’s team managed to sneak a late win. Jayden took home player of the week after showing huge improvement in his soloing and passing.
U10 Girls: There was no formal training this week as a lot of girls celebrated their First Holy Communion. Well done to some of the girls who stepped up to play with the under 12 girls in their town league match. We play Churchill girls on Tuesday evening. Training continues next Sunday as normal.
U11’s: Our Kellihers Mills Town League series of Go games got back got underway last Thursday evening against Kerins O’Rahillys at our home pitch in Blennerville.
We split the group into two teams, the Windmill and the Bridge and both teams had great contests against the away teams. Both the Kerins O’Rahilly teams were strong sides and our young teams found it difficult at times but, to the their credit they never gave up and fought hard to stay in the contest.
On Sunday, our under 11’s played a friendly game against Kerins O’Rahillys in Ballyrickard. It was a great contest with a fine display of football from both sides. In the first half, St Pats struggled at times to get on the scoreboard.
However our young stars fought on bravely; up front Tommy, Hugh, Rylan, Sam and Aidan played well while Ethan and Stephen won a lot of possession in midfield. At the back Eddie, Thomas, Jace and James fought hard for every ball and made it very difficult for the home team.
The coaches were really happy with the effort, determination and teamwork from the whole team. It was a big improvement and St Pats fortunes continued to improve as the game went on, and we finished the stronger side.
It was also great to see the “Silent sideline” was respected from both sets of coaches and supporters. Thank you to the referees and Kerins O’Rahillys team and coaches for a sporting contest.
Training resumed this Friday at 6pm at St Pat’s club grounds in Blennerville V92 RH98, and again on Sunday at 12 noon. A reminder to parents that all players are to have a gum shield and to wear it at the matches and training, and to register and complete the Health checks in advance at www.foireann.ie
U12 Girls: The U12’s girls played their first Tralee town board league on Thursday last against a strong Austin Stacks B team. The girls played exceptionally well against a strong Stacks side, gave a good account of themselves for their first competitive match. Unfortunately came out on the wrong side of the score having had the majority of the possession on the evening but due to the stricter LGFA rules they gave away some frees.
On the evening, we had great performances from our two midfielders, Lainey and Lilly who tried their best to get the ball towards the forwards Sarah, Ailbhe, Niamh, Jessica, Aimee and Tara. Also on the evening, our centre half-back Rhianna stood out with her performance on winning the ball from the opposing team.
Special mention to our alternating goal keepers, Eve/Aoife and our backs Saorlaith, Kaytlin, Alannah, Aoife and Eve.
On Sunday we had our second round of the Tralee board league against Kerins O’Rahilys B-team. They all played exceptionally well against a tough Strand Road team.
It was difficult for Strand Road to score as our defence was solid at the back consisting of Sarah, Rihanna, Grace, Alannah, Aoife and Ailbhe. A special mention to u10 Allanah O’Mahony who stood out for an excellent defensive display in this u12 game.
We had a good challenge, they worked well together as a team and gave it their all and won this game.
Congratulations to all! It’s well deserved for all the effort these girls have put in.
Next round of the Tralee town board league will be against John Mitchels, time and date to be confirmed, details to be announced on WhatsApp.
U13’s: U13 Central League
Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane 2-16 v 2-10 St Pats. We travelled to Glenbeigh on Sunday morning last for our first game of the central league. A bright start saw us lead 2-02 v 0-05 at the first water break and the half time score was 2-05 v 1-09. However a goal immediately afterf half time saw the home side take a lead that we couldn’t recover from. We tried gallantly but our great effort fell short and we were defeated by 6 points in a very sporting game. Well done to our boys who gave it their all and played with great teamwork and spirit.

Seniors
Our Round 3 match in the Kerry Petroleum Junior Premier Club Championship is this Sunday 26 September when we travel to Páirc Na Féile (Brosna) to take on Brosna. This is a must win game for us to put us within fighting chance of qualifying for the next round (provided the other match in the group favours us) and avoiding a relegation play-off. Throw-in for this Sunday is 2.30pm. Best of luck to Liam, his management team and panel.
Minor County Championship
Congratulations to the St Brendan’s Board Minors who narrowly overcame Glenflesk last Saturday afternoon in Blennerville in round 1 of the Keane’s Supervalu MCC on a scoreline of 1-09 to 11 points. St Pats are represented by Liam O’Sullivan (selector), Cillian Lynch and Adam Hegarty (players).
Round 2 matches will be played this Saturday September 25 with St Brendan’s away to Kenmare district.
Community Games
Lucy Mulgrew represented us in Blennerville and her County in the Regional Athletics finals at the weekend. Lucy came 5th in her final so unfortunately no medal this year but she enjoyed the race and was proud to get this far. Well done Lucy.
Kerry Community Games Swimming County Finals is scheduled for Sunday 10th October. U8’s & Relay teams are not permitted this year. The planned introduction of U16 Boys/Girls 50m Breaststroke at nationals is not going ahead also. This event will remain at County Finals only.

Congratulations
Congratulations to the pupils from Blennerville National School, especially our U9 boys and girls who received their First Holy Communion last Saturday in St John’s Church. A special word of thanks to all who helped prepare the children for this very special event.
