Juvenile Academy

U7

A great morning with our u7’s who all showed great skill and enthusiasm throughout our session. After our warmup we split into 3 pods for our hand passing, soloing and kick passing drills and we then finished with 2 competitive matches. Again, well done to all, and the practice at home is showing.

U8 Girls

Well done to our girls, who played Sunday Afternoon at home to John Mitchells. Great skills on display & the girls are learning all the time. Keep up the skills practice, we will train as normal next Sunday morning at St Pats at 10.30.

U9

The u9s started by practicing their soloing and tackling skills during the warmup and went into one-on-one goal kicking followed by some brilliant point kicking. We had a long and competitive game to finish with the colors hanging on for a one-point victory after a great comeback by the oranges. We play Cordal on Thursday evening in St pats at 6.30pm, please be there for 6.15pm.

U10 Girls

U10 Girls played their 4th match of the season today Sunday 3rd of July at home to John Mitchel’s. The girls played well together and worked really hard throughout the game.

They switched around positions at the breaks taking turns in defense, mid-field, up front and in goal. All 10 girls, Sofia, Ria, Rosie, Ailbhe, Clodagh, Emma Gilbride, Mary-Kate, Eve, and Emma and Jessica Lacey had strong performances and fought hard for the duration. They took some lovely scores and a fine goal! Well done to all the girls on a great performance today!! And see you all at training as normal next Sunday 10.30am.

U11 Boys

Well done to the lads for trying hard against a very strong Finuge team last Thursday. That was the last of our county go games program. We are expecting the central region games program to commence in a few weeks which will also be on Thursday evenings. The boys trained Sunday morning and will also train next Thursday with the time to be confirmed. There will be no training next Sunday as a lot will be travelling to Croke Park to support Kerry.

U12 Girls

Well done to Ava our well-deserved player of the week. Ava only joined St. Pats a few weeks ago and it is unbelievable to see her improvement in such a short space of time. In Our last game Ava stood out to all her coaches and she works so hard in every training session.

It is very clear to see she is practicing her skills at home. Training continues this week. The County league B final against Austin Stacks is rescheduled for July 13th Time and Venue is to be decided.

U15

There are two matches for the U15 in different divisions in the Central Region Phase 2.

Our U15’s St Pats/Kerins O Rahillys play in John Mitchels in Division 2 against John Mitchels on the Wednesday 6th of July at 7pm.

Our 15’s St Pats/Kerins O Rahillys play away in Austin Stacks in Division 5 against Austin Stacks on Wednesday 6th of July at 7pm.

U17

St Pats/Kerins O Rahillys 2-12 Skellig Rangers /Valentia 1-15

This was a game that had it all. Huge leads, massive performances, epic comebacks. All played in atrocious conditions, in front of a vocal and supportive crowd that was nearly as exhausted as the players by the end!

Skellig Rangers/Valentia raced into an early lead, having seized complete control of the game from the off.

Our lads might not have been at their skillful best in the first 20 minutes, but they have really developed a terrific team spirit.

Driven forward by Jake Foley, who was only just coming back from a serious injury, by half time we reduced the deficit from 10 points to a much more manageable 6 points having played poorly and against the elements.

The 2nd half will be spoken about for years to come. St Pats/Kerins O Rahillys attacked relentlessly, slowly yet steadily reeling in a resolute Skellig Rangers/Valentia. Yet every time we drew level, we found ourselves a point behind again.

With the minimum between the teams, we often went for the winning goal when an equalizing point would have kept momentum on our side.

Somehow, with time nearly up and we a point down, we managed to get the ball to Jake, who barely able to stand, kicked a monstrous equalizer. So, honours even on the night. If the replay is even half as good, we’ll be in for a great game. We know we can play better and will need to if we are to progress. Replay to be arranged.

U21

The Acorn Life U21 County Football Championship began on Monday night last St Brendan’s Board against Laune Rangers.

In horrendous conditions both sides fought hard to win the first match. Three of St Pats Seniors were on the St Brendan’s panel Fergal O Brien, Niall McCarthy, and Cormac Lynch. At half time St Brendan’s Board 1-06 Laune Rangers 1-02, Fergal O Brien scored three points from frees between the first and second half as play continued it looked like St Brendan’s Board would win with a last-minute goal for Laune Rangers it was a draw St Brendan’s Board 3-08 Luane Rangers 3-08. Extra Time was needed Half time score AET St Brendan’s 3-11 Laune Rangers 3-09. Full time score AET St Brendan’s Board 3-13 Laune Rangers 3-10. Well done to all.
