Juvenile Academy

U5

A lovely sunny morning and a great turnout for training this week. We practiced our ball handling skills, kicking off ground and from hands and finished with a mini match between the blue and green teams. Well done all and a special mention to our players of the week, Laila, and Taylor.

U7

We hosted Churchill on Sunday Morning in glorious conditions in Blennerville. We had an excellent turn out considering people are on holidays. There were some great skills on show, and we hope all the Boys and Girls enjoyed themselves. Thanks to Mike, Noel, Fiona, and James for helping set up and taking a team each.

U8 Girls

Very well done to all our girls who joined the under 7 boys this morning for fun Go Games Vs Churchill. The girls fitted in very well & showed off their skills, practice & concentration in training paid off! More training next week & keep up the practice at home.

U9 Boys

The u9 boys started the session with a light warm up that included some teamwork movements and then we practiced our overhead catching and kicking on the turn. We played a great game with the reds running out convincing winners in the end. We had some great performances from Flynn, Darragh and Tommy as well as Cillian Paddy and Fionn for the blues. See you all next Sunday again.

U10 Girls

U10 Girls played at a fun Blitz in Ballyrickard on Saturday 6th organised by the North Kerry Ladies to raise funds for Breast Cancer Ireland which was kindly sponsored by Terrys Butchers.

The 11 girls played really well together and worked hard throughout their 3 games vs Ballyduff, Annascaul & Listowel. They have all shown massive improvement week on week. Well done girls on a great performance all around. Academy Training as normal next Sunday 14th of August at 10.30am.

U11 Boys

Last Thursday, we commenced the U11 Central Region Go Games with another visit to our good friends in Dingle. It was the third time we played them this year and from the outset, it was clear to see how both teams have improved throughout the season.

After two tight first half’s, our lads stuck to their task and played their best football of the season to date in both games in the second half. Well done to all the boys who played and to the parents and coaches for making sure we had two teams available to play.

On Sunday we trained in glorious sunshine with another great turnout considering it’s the holiday season. After some skills work, coaches Brian and Joe took some small sided games followed by a 7 a side game to finish.

We have no game this Thursday so we will train instead at 6:30pm for one hour. Our next Central Region Go Game is scheduled for Monday August 15th at home to Templenoe. This fixture will be confirmed later in the week. Keep up the practice at home lads!

U12 Girls

Training continued this week for the girls on Thursday and Sunday Morning. Congratulations to Grace Costello who received our player of the week trophy at training yesterday evening. Grace trained consistently with the u12’s from the beginning of the year.

Unfortunately for Grace and the team she received a bad injury and was out of action for a good period of the year. However, Grace still travelled to games to support her team and was back in time for a few training sessions before our final.

She put in a great performance in the Final. Well done, Grace. The Girls are going on a Team Day out on Thursday to Kenmare Adventure Centre organised by the Coaches, A Lovely Treat for the Team.

U13

Our U13 St Pat’s/Kerins O’Rahillys ‘A’ team played their second game in the Central League last Sunday evening with an away fixture versus Annascaul/Lispole.

The game played in warm weather conditions in Annascaul developed into a very competitive and close game. The lead was exchanged a number of times during the course of the game however when the final whistle sounded the lead was held by Annascaul/Lispole. Due a variety of reasons we had a low participation of Pat’s players for this game so well done to Ródhan Culloo and Conor Sheehan both of whom played very well.

The next A team game is scheduled for Sunday 21st August with Castlegregory providing the opposition, details will be circulated through the WhatsApp group. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday for all U13 players.

Minors

St Brendan’s Minors played Rathmore on last Monday Night, St Brendan’s played very well in tough conditions congratulations on the win against Rathmore.

Seniors

Our seniors travelled to Portmagee on Saturday night last to play Skellig Rangers in their Round 2, with sun shining the match began from the very beginning this match was going to be tough in every aspect.

With scores happening in a back and forth between the teams Skellig Rangers scored five points and our points came from two from David O Callaghan, one from Liam O Sullivan, one from Brendan Poff and one from Fergal O Brien. This was very quick and exciting to watch with every throw of the ball. Half time score St Pats 0-05 Skellig Rangers 0-05.

The second half began with two points from Skellig Rangers Breandan Savage and Kieran Hurley replied with a point each. Skellig Rangers added three points in quick succession, Kieran Hurley and Brendan Poff added a point each to keep the match within a point Skellig Rangers put a point over the bar, it was Brendan Poff who added the last of St Pats scores with a point.

It was a hard-fought match but, in the end, Skellig Rangers were victorious. St Pats 0-10 Skellig Rangers 0-11

Our Round 3 is scheduled for the weekend of 20th/21st of August.

Seniors B

Our Round 1 backgame against Ardfert which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday 2nd of August in Blennerville at 7.30pm did not go ahead.

Congratulations

To Michelle Byrne and Daren Horan on the birth of their baby boy.
