Proceeds from the walk will go towards The Palliative Care Unit. There will be refreshments and lots of events for the family afterwards.

Senior Team

Dromid Pearses 2-11

St Pats 0-10

St Pats made the long trip down south to Pairc An Phiarsaigh needing at least a draw to guarantee a playoff place without relying on other results but we came away with a loss and other results went  in our favour.

Played in drizzly conditions that made the pitch slippery, the first point was registered in the fourth minute after a swift interchange of passes from Jordan Conway, Luke Mulligan and was finished by Klieran Hurley. The away side doubled their lead in the eight minute from a free taken by David O’Callaghan after he was pulled down by his marker.

Dromid scored their first point after twelve minutes with a well taken point from play by Dilan O’Donoghue. St Pats restored their 2 point cushion with a free taken by David O’Callaghan after Adrian Greaney, playing in corner forward was fouled. Further points by Brendan Poff and David O’Callaghan saw the away side stretch their lead to 4 points.

At this stage, everything was going well for the away aside as Dromid kicked 4 wides and had their ball turned over on a number of occasions. St Pats lead could have been cut short in the twenty-fifth minute but for a point blank save by Paudi Bailey after Dilan O’Donoghue found himself through on goal.

Dromid’s second point came deep into the first half after twenty six minutes from a free taken by Chris Farley and he also scored the last point of the half also from a free to leave the half time scores at Dromid Pearses 0-3 St Pats 0-6

The second half kicked off with St Pats gaining the initial upper hand right from the throw-in with Liam Poff fielding well and passing the ball to Luke Mulligan who sent in a high ball into Dromid’s danger zone.

The ball was gathered by Brendan poff to point from close range. Dromid took over shortly afterwards scoring1-5 without reply to lead by five points. The goal, which was from the penalty spot was controversial as Paudi Bailey cleared the ball but was adjudged to have fouled an opponent in the process.

St Pats narrowed the gap to two points with points from Luke Mulligan, Liam O’Sullivan and David O’Callaghan, however the sucker punch came in the 24th minute when Dromid’s Niall O’Shea found the net to put the game beyond St Pats.

The afternoon went from bad to worse when David was black carded and Liam Poff received a second yellow. The full time scores were Dromid 2-11 St Pats 0-10.

This result ensured that Dromid were safe in Division 3 but left St Pats in a 3- way playoff with neighbours Annascaul and Gneeveguilla. The first match will be played on Sunday, September 25th with time and venue yet to be confirmed.
