Academy

Huge thanks to Blennerville National School for allowing our Academy avail of their sports hall for training last Sunday due to the very windy conditions on the day.

U6’s: Well done to Lauren Heavey, Ava Sweeney, Paddy Flynn and Eddie Hayes who put in a great training session last Sunday morning but a huge well done to Thomas Colivet who received our player of the week trophy by showing great skill and determination. Keep up the good work.

U8’s: On Thursday evening last we played host to the under 8 team from Castlegregory and what a ding-dong game our under 8’s team enjoyed with them. There were some great scores from Jack Costello, Michael Enright and Darragh Murphy who were well supported by Sharon Enright, Sarah Fitzgerald, Keelin Synnott, Kayla O’Connor and Orlaigh Murphy. Luke Passway made some dramatic saves while playing in goal and the defence was well served by Garry Scollard, Caoilainn Culloo, Rory Daly, Rodhan Culloo and Nathan Murphy. Well done to all who played and especially to James Daly and Stephen Enright – two of our under 6 panel who made the step up to Under 8’s for the game. Thanks to the parents for getting all of the players to the match on Thurday.
Congratulations to Keelin Sinnott who won the player of the week for the under 8’s at the academy on Sunday last. The session was held in the School hall and a great effort in all of the drills was put in by everyone especially Leah Kelliher, Caoilainn Culloo and Stephen Enright.

U10’s: The St. Pats under 10’s Boys & Girls were in academy action last Sunday. We had a great turnout in the new sports hall in Blennerville national school. The coaches were delighted with the great effort everyone gave during the session with Eddie Stack, Millie O’Brien, Grainne Breen and Thomas Sheehy giving it their all during the session. Congratulations to Kayla O’Connor on winning footballer of the week trophy. It is important that ye all keep practicing yer skills at home during the week. Naomh Padraig Abu…..

U12’s: Our U12’s played Cromane in a rescheduled game last Wednesday and competed well despite missing several key players but we were beaten on a scoreline of 5-12 to 1-6. We were scheduled to play John Mitchels in our last game of the Kelliher’s Toyota Central Region Division 4 League away last Sunday but the home side did not show up.

Brothers in arms

Aiden Dillane and current Juvenile chairman, Seamus Murphy both played for St Pats in the nineties and were reunited again when they both played for Kingdom Kerry Gaels from London in the Tommy Griffin Over 35 tournament in Dingle at the weekend. Aiden Dillane received the player of the tournament award and current Kerry selector Diarmuid Murphy was very impressed with the performances of this dynamic duo.
