Under 13s

Our u13’s played against Ardfert on Sunday evening at home. Although we were beaten our boys looked very impressive on the night. We had alot of possession and we saw some lovely scores in the first half from Fergal O’ Brien and Patrick Dowling.

A special mention has to be given to Niall McCarthy who made some tremendous saves in goal and prevented us from been beaten by a much wider margin.

In the second half Patrick and Fergal continued to pop the ball over the bar. We eventually saw our first goal when Cormac Lynch caught a high ball, gave a short pass to Fergal who quickly passed it to Danny Greaney and Danny finished it off with a lovely soccer style goal.

Ardfert continued to score and before the final whistle Fergal rattled the net to make the final score St.Pats 2-7 Ardfert 3-12.

Team: Niall McCarthy, Brian Teahan, Ian McCarthy, Martin Savage, Ciaran O’Donoghue, Fergal O’Brien(1-3), David, Cathal Fitzgibbon, Cormac Lynch, Patrick Dowling(0-3), Martin Laucher, Danny Greaney(1-1), Michael Doody, Matthew Quilter and Aaron O’Brien. We are scheduled to play away to Austin Stacks B’s on Sunday July 20th at 6 o’clock.

Juniors

Our juniors drew with Na Gaeil last Monday night in the Town League. They are scheduled to play Ballymac away in round three on Monday night. Result in next week’s notes.

Duagh defeated Churchill in the semi-final of the County Junior League so we now know our opponents for the final. It was expected that the game would be scheduled for this Friday night at a neutral venue. Once confirmation is received, it will be posted on the Club Facebook page so keep an eye on that for further details. We wish the two Pats, Kevin and the team the very best of luck.

We have also entered the Local Tidy Towns’ Competition and judging will commence mid-July. To this effect, we urge all residents to keep the areas around your homes weed free and to pay particular attention to the upkeep of the communal Green Areas.

Future Star

Sean Ryle, one of the club’s greatest servants, was a proud dad two weeks ago as his son Evan came on as a sub for the Cork Minor Footballers vs Kerry in Pairc Ui Chaoimh two weeks ago. Evan’s first taste of football was sitting on his dad’s knee in a St Pats dressing room so we can lay a claim to him! Well done Evan and we wish you continued success in your career.

Sympathy

The club would also like to extend its sympathy to the families & relatives of Nellie Brosnan, O’Rahilly’s Villas & Paddy Commane, Rock Street. May They Rest In Peace.
