AND the awards keep on coming.

There was more great news for Austin Stacks today as it was announced the ‘Rockumentary’ DVD on their amazing county and Munster final successes, filmed and directed by Rory Kirby, has won a McNamee Award.

The GAA McNamee Awards are held annually to honour excellence in the area of communications, public relations and journalism, specifically related to the activities of the GAA.

“I’m delighted for everyone involved in the club. It’s a great honour but we’ll have to keep our eyes on an even bigger prize this year,” said Rory Kirby.

Rory said that the DVD was entered by club PRO Elma Nix almost straight from the production line, to make the deadline for judging.

The Rockumentary won in the Club Project (Digital and Social Media) category which aims to acknowledge excellence in a one-off project across all forms of public relations, communication and digital activity.

The Awards are named after the late Pádraig McNamee, former President of the GAA, Chairman of the GAA Commission (1969-1971) and member of RTÉ Authority.

The awards will be presented at Croke Park on January 17, by GAA President Liam Ó Neill.

Let’s hope the Stacks make a return visit to HQ in March!
