KERINS O’Rahilly’s got one over on their great rivals from The Rock on Wednesday night…but not on the football field.
Barry John Keane and Kieran Donaghy were the celebrity chefs cooking up the goods in the kitchen of Kirby’s Brogue Inn for ‘The Restaurant’ fundraiser in aid of Pieta House.
‘The Restaurant’ featured two Four-Course Menus chosen and cooked by the two chefs, while the audience, who paid €60-a-head, enjoyed bubbly on arrival and wine with their meal.
There was a capacity crowd of 110 diners present to sample the culinary delights – which included ‘Rack of Kerry Lamb’ and ‘Cod Wrapped In Parma Ham’ – from the two lads, but when the final whistle blew, judges Pat Spillane, Paul Treyvaud and Melanie Harty deemed Barry John the winner.
Both chefs spoke and said what a wonderful experience it was for them, while organisers Margaret Brick and Fiona Kirby were delighted with the event and Margaret thanked the judges the guests and all who made the night happen.
