THIRTY boys and girls ranging from the ages of 6 and 13 are taking part in the St Pats GAA Cul Camp in Blennerville this week.

The aim of the camp is to teach children the most important skills of the game, plus for them to have a bit of fun too.

“It’s going well, we have a great bunch here,” said camp co-ordinator Thomas Ladden.

“We  focus in on a skill each day, so one day the kids will be doing high-fielding the next day hand-passing, in the afternoons we have mini-leagues which they really enjoy,” he said.

“There something here for everybody, we have some footballers that are very good and others who are just picking it. We have French exchange student here and he’s never played football before in his life, but he’s enjoying it,” he said.

“Playing the games is the best part of it and you can have good craic yourself while they are playing,” Thomas said.

The kids will be presented with kits during the week and the camp will run up until Friday.
