THE relatively dry spell of weather will come to an end tomorrow…for a while.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rain warning for Kerry, Cork and Waterford. Several bands of heavy rainfall will bring accumulations of 30-50mm, with higher totals likely in mountainous regions.

This may lead to localised flooding and hazardous driving conditions. The warning is in effect from 2am on Wednesday until 6am on Thursday.

Looking at the Met Eireann predicted rainfall radar on their website, it looks like the rain in Kerry will be heaviest in the early hours of Wednesday morning with just showers from 11am to 6pm so it won’t hinder the Christmas shopping too much.

The rain will get heavier on Wednesday night but Thursday is set to be a dry, mild day with spells of sunshine with rain returning later that night.

At the moment it looks like Christmas Eve will be another dry day while early signs are Christmas Day will have a wet early morning before clearing for a dry day.
