WHILE current wind and snow/ice warnings are in place until Friday morning, we won’t have to wait long for the next one to arrive.

Met Éireann has just issued a Status Yellow – Rainfall warning for Kerry, Cork and Waterford to take effect on Saturday.

There’ll be 30 to 40 mm of rainfall with strong to gale force onshore southeast winds. There’s a river and coastal flooding risk.

The warning is valid from just after midnight on Saturday until noon later that day. Looking more locally, the rain will arrive in the Tralee area early on Friday evening and will be mostly cleared by around 8am leaving a mix of dry spells and showers on Saturday.
