Status Yellow Wind Warning For Kerry In Effect From Friday Afternoon

IT’S about to get windy this afternoon in the county according to Met Éireann as they have issued a Status Yellow – Wind warning for Kerry, Donegal, Galway and Mayo.

South to Southwest winds 50 to 65 km/hr gusts 90 to 110 km/hr, strongest on exposed coasts and hills.

The warning is valid from 3pm on Friday to 11am on Saturday morning.  Meanwhile the forecast for the weekend isn’t that encouraging.

Friday will be mainly dry with those winds, but Saturday will see some heavy spells of rain in the morning and afternoon, all the while temperatures won’t reach double digits.

After a mainly dry and cold Saturday night, Sunday morning will see a few showers before a dry and sometimes sunny afternoon.

Unfortunately, the forecast for next week isn’t encouraging with Monday and Tuesday set to see more heavy rain, a reprieve on Wednesday before more of the same on Thursday.
