STORM UPDATE: No Roads Closed In Tralee Area But Watch Out For Debris

STORM Diana is affecting the county this morning and while there are no reports of roads closed in the Tralee area, Gardai report that a number of incidents have occurred on the Tralee/Fenit Road this morning where debris is an issue.

Elsewhere, Kerry County Council is aware of and dealing with the following issues this morning, arising from high winds and the storm:

• Tree down at Aughils near Inch

• Tree down on main road near Lispole

• Tree down on main road at Kilgarvan

• Strand Street in Dingle is impassable due to flooding

• The N70 road in south Kerry is currently blocked by a fallen tree at Tahilla near Sneem. Council crew will clear the road when it is safe to do so

Irish Rail reports that the 07:05 Tralee – Heuston is delayed by up to 90 minutes due to a tree on the line. Further delays expected between Tralee and Mallow.

The Council is advising people to proceed with caution on all routes as high winds will continue over the coming hours.  Emergencies can be reported to their emergency contact line at 066 7183588.

The Status Orange weather warning is due to end at 12 noon but a Status Yellow warning will remain until later in the afternoon.
