The aim of the day was to begin a conversation with students on the topic of self care – an area so fundamental to any of the caring professions from social work to psychotherapy.

The students sampled some taichi for themselves while also discussing with each other the hallmarks of self care.

Self care of both students and staff is a core value of KCFE and a value that directs their day to day work.

Speakers on the day were Margaret Thornton, Coordinator Applied Social Studies; Jacqui Twohig, Motivational speaker and personal trainer; Aidan Sullivan BCL, TaiChi practioner and meditator; Margaret O’Connor, Psychotherapist; Brighid Daly, Biodynamic Psychotherapist and Kevin Beasley, Sports teacher / Nutrition expert.
